Hello guys, Today I am here posting this blog to share my feelings about this beloved group and the topic of "war".
I am not creating this blog to have /claps from you or make you like me, I am low on post count certainly many of you don't know me.(If you want to see me you can check my post on the "a picture with your girl/boyfriend" thread.Altough I have a low post count, I am following the site since 2007 (actually this site is my homepage :p) but I never participated in discussions.
I am 25 years old and this is my first blog in my entire internet history so, if you find errors or don't like my structure of blog I apologize beforehand.
Since I feel very close to this community I want to share my feelings about War and A Perfect Circle's e-Motive album.I am a kind of person that feels ache in the heart when I hear about war, manslaughter, massacre and human beings killing human beings.(It's not that I can't stand the gore graphics, I watched may be the hardest things regarding the topic of war. It's not my stomach that hurts it's my heart that hurts.)
Whenever I hear news about war, killings etc, I am feeling very sad inside my heart thinking about the way humanity taking. Asking why people doing this to each other considering everybody has a lifespan of 60 years average.
But I am not going to bore you with my thoughts and feelings about this issue more. Because that would be the topic of "War" only.
My aim here is, if there is someone else whose heart ache reading news about war or watching slaughter on internet and gets depressed about our future, I want to know if they met "A Perfect Circle" and the album called "e-Motive". I am a person who is into music very much, playing (bass, piano) , listening etc... And this album really -literally- share my feelings about the topic war. I met this group because of I am a huge "Tool" fan (which can take tons of blogs to discuss).
Anyway, I am not an activist runs protests and meetings in streets, I don't get angry but very sad about war. Getting depressed in my house reading news about war.
Here is the song list of e-motive album from A perfect circle. If someone out there in this site shares the same feelings as me I strongly suggest them to listen their songs and watch their music videos.

Imagine :
Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
thanks -if- to you spending your time reading this. I am just a simple human being who wants world peace. I again apologize if you didn't like the structure.
and I love this community.
with respects, Desu out.
Note : I know war and murder is reality of this world, it is happening in my country too, I am just very irritated about this reality and I oppose it.
haha i found it! and i read the rest of your blog but war hasnt really touched me enough personally to feel the pain that it sounds like you do :-/ i suppose im fortunate
I only know that a Perfect Circle is basically the guy from Tool. I couldn't help but notice that almost all of those songs are covers. What makes them better than the originals? I haven't heard them, but I'm skeptical they can out-perform the original artists on tracks like "What's Going On?", "When the Levee Breaks" or even "Imagine". Are they very different takes on the songs, or just basically the same but in a "dark" style?
Damnit, clicking on this I was hoping for something like "A Perfect Circle announces new album" but I guess it's tools turn again anyways, which is good since that's one of few bands I like more than APC. have you got the Ashes Divide album? Really great album too, if APC never continues because of AD I'm actually fine with that.
I agree, war is really depressing if you ever find yourself having too good of a mood then you should go watch "War Photographer", a movie about photographer James Nachtwey, great man... in a way it's a depressing movie but I also found it really inspiring in the sense that it shows you to see each life's worth, how much we can accomplish and that we shouldn't waste our time.
funny that you mention this album now, I havent listened to it in a very long time but in the last few days I kept having this earworm of "people are people so why should it be 'you and I cannot get along'"...

Basically just the guy from tool doing his solo thing= puscifer, not a perfect circle A Perfect Circle is a different band with the fronter of tool, but also with the great billy howerdel (who sings a lot on this album too) and Josh Freese. (The bassist changed some time, was Troy von Leeuwen or what he was called again, who is now member of Queens Of The StoneAge)
These covers are unlike most covers imo viable because they do change them a whole lot. Imagine has a completely different feel because of how "dark" it is, while "When the levee breaks" has this incredibly relaxed ambience to it, some beautiful piano in it, just really really different compared to the original.

Ok, I'll check it out later. I have this vague sense that I've heard the version of "Imagine" before, but I'm not sure.
^ Passive is like the sickest song ever. I remember listening to that on repeat like 100 times Listening to APC's version of Imagine for the first time and its pretty cool.
APC is really amazing but I gotta say I like Tool more. Super excited for their new album.
Edit: I'm re-listening to some of my old favourite APC songs (The Noose, Blue, etc...) and I don't think I can really put either Tool or APC ahead of the other. Its really a completely different feel to the music. I guess I'll just say they're both totally awesome for completely different reasons.
