Almost everyone has reported that the buttons squeak, though, and they do on mine too. My cousin had an extra deathadder that I stole and am now using because I was so sick of hearing that goddamned button squeak

It's possible to grease it to make it go away, and it's fairly easy if you have any sort of lubricant. The Salmosa and the Krait are very similar - I personally prefer the Krait (I have both, side by side, as I write this). If you're moving away from the Krait, what's your reason - so you make sure you're getting that feature / lack of problem, in the replacement mouse.

Many have suggested the Salmosa, and that's a pretty obvious go-to mouse for RTS play. It's cheap, simple, and it works well. However, I think the Abyssus is a bit better, and it's made in exactly the same style as the Salmosa. It doesn't have the button squeak problem, and I find its shape easier to situate my ring and pinky on. This makes the grip feel a lot better for me. Either way, a Salmosa or Abyssus both meet your requirements and also are stellar products.

This is just my personal suggestion but I think you might find this advice useful. I've used a lot of mice before and tried a lot of my friends' mice for weeks for personal comparisons. Logitech G1 - 800 DPI - Optical sensor (I prefer optical vs. laser) - Visually understated - The "click" is very assuring/responsive - You can buy for $25-30 - No software needed - On the fly DPI change Logitech G3 - Laser sensor - 2000 DPI - Same size as G1 - Has two side buttons (thumb/pinky) - More aggresive look - Huge teflon feet - Nice "dry" coating on the body/buttons - When I bought it it was priced at $99 - Software is somewhat required for the side buttons - On the fly DPI change The laser vs. optical sensor makes a huge performance difference. For some reason I feel the G1 outperforms the G3 but the overall product goes to the G3.

Couple weeks ago I got my friend the PC-bang version of the Logitech G1 (it's the silver/grey one) not the Retail version (blue) for his graduation present and he absolutely loved it. I hope you are happy with it if you do decide to get it, it is awesome performance-wise and is somewhat dispensable unlike the higher price point mice. Hope you found my advice useful.
