Relapse was good, but I hated that Indian accent.

Maybe it does not "affect" the superstars who have so much money they can't even count it, but I can not imagine the bulk of them are totally not affected... I know they make a great deal of their money during life shows.

Here's an even bolder statement: piracy helps the sales ;]. It's better than any kind of advertisement.

I myself know many people (including me) who use blogspots to find music and try them before buying, if we like them, we buy them. But sometimes we run into other albums we've never even heard about and liked, so we buy those too. People are all up in arms about piracy, but I think it helps the music industry more then it hurts it, because the average person who downloads will also buy the album, or at least another album they've found.

David Draiman (lead singer for Disturbed) was once interviewed about piracy and responded that he fully supported Napster(which was p2p) because it got people listening to their music and they don't make a dime off the record companies anyways. So, me, I'll always buy the album just to show support. You do help by boosting their numbers, even if they aren't directly profiting.

I saw this image on another forum, and it really upset me. Piracy is theft. You can rationalize it all you want, but at the end of the day most artists make content for the purpose of selling it and making money. If you take that content without paying them, you are stealing money from them. End of story.

Ya I read something similar here from an interview with Lady Gaga: + Show Spoiler +. She pretty much says artists can easily make 40 million to 100 million dollars by doing tours/concerts.

If you take that content without paying them, you are stealing money from them. End of story. It is a problem of IP versus physical items. I don't think the picture says that piracy is good or not depriving the artists etc. of money but it is stating that due to the nature of the "product" (digital/IP) it should be handled a bit differently and this referred to as piracy, not as theft. However, the result is the same - loss of income/not generated income. Anyway, any further discussion will probably derail the thread so back on topic! I like the new album. I listened to it and have to say it is much better than Relapse. You can see the influence of the drugs on Em's creative performance for sure, so I am glad that he is back to "normal" again.

Almost all the songs have some sentiment about him apologizing, which is fine and deserved to long time em fans but damn man...it doesn't have to be on every track stop doubting yourself. Its like the sentiment in this thread, recovery is a lot better as an album and the next stage of eminem as an artist, but for those who followed em from the beginning it's like a final realization that we'll never have marshall mathers and slim shady lp reincarnations back. It's a thematic album, hence the title Recovery. I for one love the thematic unity.

It's immediately apparent that it's a thematic album..but instead of the majority of the the tracks being produced by dre and/or himself and collaborations with nate dogg, snoop, 50, or even a surprise guest from another genre like Elton John he sticks with Lil wayne..the track is ok its like when wayne showed promise while he was in cash money.. You know the wayne before he started kissing dudes and auto-tuning and being a fucking faggot in general...Also shoutouts to kanye are just disappointing. A no talent hack who does dumb ass stunts on tv. Anyway, just sayin its a good album overall the most listenable thing in a while. The other guest artists fit really well into what eminem was trying to do I think. But stack up Slim shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem Show up against this album and call it a day because that eminem is never coming back.

"is" means the same. the exact same. perfectly equivalent to. piracy and theft are not the same. if they were the same then they wouldn't be different words with different meanings, that imply different things and have different causes and different effects. in short, use your brain, be discerning, don't be a fool.

But if they're only making music to make money then fuck them
