Looks like I'm with the crowd here I'm actually surprised I thought I'd be more central until they got to the sex questions... I'm very liberal about sex.

since my understanding of american politics is that the farther you are to the left, the higher your IQ, i'm taking this survey as a compliment.

lol dream on

It's intended to give an absolute international metric

Nah.. this only makes sens in Texas I think. From my experience of living in France and Sweden you must be like a nazi to end up in the blue field. (then again Sweden and France are leftist coutries)

The republic is a Western concept. Eastern philosophy has a paternalist tradition.

Some of these questions are pretty stupid imo.
Sure, a 1 party system HAS the advantage that no other party delays legislation, but the real question is whether that is desirable or not.

If you consider British politics, there is virtually zero blocking of government bills - this is in part because they've already debated the language in the House of Commons and also based on trust and tradition. The government can be dissolved in a no-confidence vote at a later date if this trust is overstepped, but this power is rarely invoked.

Compared to American politics the Brits move a lot faster because of this tradition. So you could have a favorable opinion on this question without taking it to its authoritarian extreme. The example is stretched, but to say that a one-party system is evil for lack of plurality does not diminish its bureaucratic efficacy: a utilitarian good.

The question is asking whether you believe the utilitarian good of a smooth bureaucracy can outweigh the egalitarian necessity for plurality, although I agree the question could be more explicit.

People seem to think that landing in the Green quadrant is a given. But American Democrats tend to fall into the Blue quadrant (based on their statements and platforms), which indicates to Americans that voted for Obama that they're not as close on the issues or values as the PR would have them believe.

This survey blows, wayyyy too many questions about religion and gays and not enough about economics and government. I'm atheist and not homophobic, but I'm certainly NOT a leftist libertarian.

Sex and religion are easy questions IMO, its only when you start discussing economics and governing systems that things get complicated.
In Hungry Hungry Hippos there are no such constraints—one can constantly attempt to collect marbles with one’s hippo, limited only by one’s hippo-levering capabilities.

Here is mine. Some questions are strange though. Maybe my english is just not good enough.

For example: "All people have their rights, but it is better for all of us that different sorts of people should keep to their own kind."
What do they mean by that? Racial segregation?
Or what have "rights" to do with the second part of the sentence?

This is btw what you get if choose strongly agree on every question:

So if you agree more you are more authoritarian. Interesting choice ^^

There's differences between what people say and how they vote and what they believe.

Economic Left/Right: -6.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.13

Yea, like someone mentioned in one of the other dozen threads with this test, the questions are massively leading towards the libertarian / leftist side, and other questions are rather vague. Still, the result did pretty much reflect my expectations.

I took the test twice, once with 1-second intuition choices the other with some thought.

Needless to say the two test results were on opposite ends, so I guess the question is whether to take the test with the mindset, "What should be done", or the mindset, "What I would do".

Also, take this question for example:

"Some people are naturally unlucky."

Too ambiguous:

1. Some people are naturally unlucky because they always miss out on jobs, fail in relationships, etc.

2. Some people are naturally unlucky because they are born without arms.

In which case I would strongly disagree and strongly agree respectively.

American politics the left is the right if you put them in Europe. The right is the ultra right Americans tends to be center right anyways.
