this is pretty useless and not really indicative of anything at all.

Not sure how useful that is. I'm more conservative in private than I am in politics. IE: even if I think certain things are wrong, I think it would be more wrong for the government to regulate them. I think this survey may reflect my personal choices more than how I'd vote, or maybe not. Anyway, a political thread that doesn't have to be too full of vitriol, since there are no specifics! Yay!

Wow this test is scewed. In sweden I usually agree more with the parties to the right. lollol I guess you are a communist according to this test if you like culture... 'The most important thing to learn in school is disciplin' - seriously who the fuck thinks that?

Elroi: There are several other demographic-based surveys for U.K., Australia, and Germany, but you're probably working with the U.S. one. It's pretty straightforward though - see how the survey positions some prominent politicians (based on their stated opinions and platform) if you think it's broken.

'The most important thing to learn in school is disciplin' - seriously who the fuck thinks that? The thing is that you and I are living in a socialist country. The parties we here in sweden say to be "liberal" and on the right side would in America be called socialists. The whole scale is so far to the left in Sweden compared to being so far to the right in America, this makes it hard to say that you are "overall" right. I hope you understood my point.

It's an opinion poll - some very intelligent people can see reasons for authoritarianism or conservative thinking, but it's all contextual and often based on life experience.

Seems a bit superficial to me but might be able to give a general impression on where you are located in the spectrum.

From my experience of living in France and Sweden you must be like a nazi to end up in the blue field. (then again Sweden and France are leftist coutries)

Some of these questions are pretty stupid imo. Sure, a 1 party system HAS the advantage that no other party delays legislation, but the real question is whether that is desirable or not.
