I ordered two( one for myself and for my brother) Starcraft 2 exactly a month ago, from Futureshop. Their website promised that I would received a beta key upon preorder. I could care less about the key, because I already had 2 of them ( one of my brother ). But I also wanted to play on EU server, so I kept emailing futureshop, saying that I did not receive my beta keys yet, and beta would be ending soon.
I just got back from the gym, checked my email, and this is what I received:
Dear Customer:
Thanks for placing a pre-order for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. As part of our pre-order promotion we were offering a beta key. We're very sorry, but we were unable to get this code to you in time to participate in the beta.
In order to make this up to you we'll be discounting your pre-order of StarCraft II so you'll save 50%. This will be reflected on your credit card when your order ships.
We appreciate you taking advantage of our web store opportunities and we'll do our best to avoid any similar issues in the future.

It's for all the people who ordered while they had beta key promotion. I ordered it on May 12th and got 50% discount for not receiving a beta key.
Since the beta key promotion is over, you won't get that discount if you order now.

it's not false, it's just that futureshop sucks. I know some people who ordered theirs, 2 weeks after I did, and actually got their keys within 24 hours. Which does not make any sense lol
Futureshop even advertised in the newspaper that anyone who preorders would get a betakey...I literally lol'ed when i read that

I never got this email (but pre-ordered the CE two weeks back). I called them and they said "Beta's over". I was impressed they even knew this. I told them it was extended and they're seeing what they can do. I hope to get the same email you did.

Not a bad deal at all. I got a pretty good deal from Amazon. $10 off, no tax, and free shipping. But at this rate, I might cancel the pre order.

I got collectors edition for less than half off. I got a beta key and sold it for 40 dollars after using a 30 dollar off coupon that I got from gamestop because i complained about a previous prodcut, so 30 dollars for collectors edition. 60% off. I won
