Hi, Im going to LS in september (in Canada), I asked a bunch of people the same kind of questions and this is what I got so far:
- job prospects are not as good recently due to the economy, but if you are just starting undergrad, this would probably have improved by the time you start looking for law jobs
- jobs obviously also depend on your grades in LS, if you do well, you'll find a good job anyways, but if you do poorly then the job prospects won't be too good anyways irregardless of the economy
- getting $$ for LS shouldn't be too difficult, you can take out a loan from banks and pay it back after you get employed (assuming you don't get a scholarship/bursary etc). Some schools already have deals with banks (Osgoode has got Scotia I think) for this, so I wouldn't worry too much about it until you actually apply
- and LS is as tough/easy as YOU want to make it, no one really fails law school (people usually leave law school based on other reasons), getting a C is easy (but you might have a shitty job afterwards), getting A is quite difficult.
Thank you for your thoughts, it helps me a lot as I think about it. I just got an email back from someone telling me basically the same thing, it eases my mind haha.
