The TL community is awesome. I am not a big fan of online communities because you never really get a sense of true camaraderie or togetherness. The passion and recently the kindness here at TL is really amazing.
In the spirit of community, I would like to hear from you if you live in Africa or are from here. What has your SC experience been like?
Please leave a brief story about what its been like for you.
EDIT: I now have 2 keys donated to me by Inori and FyRe_Dragon. These are both awesome guys! And a big thanks to both of you!
I just registered one of them and waiting to here from FyRe_Dragon if its ok if I give this to someone else from Africa. With the time zone differences - I will look wait till 8PM GMT (my time) to hear back from him...then will let you guys know.
UPDATE: Post here if you are from or live in Africa and want a key: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=122265

SC1 online experience was really good. Latency was very good. Though an Africa server would've been most excellent (*wink at new b.net*).

Well my story with SC1 happened by complete accident, =). I was lucky enough to be living abroad at the time (I was living in Romania) and during that time starcraft 1 was released and I just happened to go to a friends birthday party and behold, he had gotten the game as a present. I was instantly hooked, I bought the game soon afterwards (My first PC game) and played it like crazy. Some of my fondest memories are of me going with my friends to a cyber cafe and playing starcraft on LAN. Unfortunately a little after broodwars came out I had to return to my country of Egypt and the internet infrasctructure was still pretty weak back then so playing online starcraft had become very difficult. Yet I tried to play when I could. These past years, internet and the communication infrastructure in Egypt has took off and I want to take this opportunity to get into the starcraft 2 community and contribute as well as enjoy one of the games that I truly have a fondness towards. As soon as starcraft 2 came out I was checking the website like a madman and reading up on the different units and buildings and whatnot. Have participated in different competitions but have yet to win and I also registered on battlenet and applied for the beta but got no reply or result. My one disappointment however is that blizzard still doesn't feel that Africa is worth the time to setup a server in, and the marginalization of a community of gamers that I believe can contribute to the improvement of the starcraft gaming experience.
