You did miss a golden opportunity here. Don't know how this would of been awkward.

Just keep going to class at that same time, if you see her playing SC again, do not walk by and sit in your seat. I asked the only South Korean I know personally whether he knew of a 'Slayers_Boxer'. He said of all his friends, he was the only one who never got sucked into SC. :| I worked with four Korean guys in a research lab in the UK - they ranged from mid twenties to mid thirties. They all played Starcraft. For some reason, in the span of about a few months, there was a huge Korean influx into our research group. I was chatting with the one guy one day, getting suited up in those cleanroom bunny suits on our way to do some routine work, whether he knew about Starcraft - he was like WAH! You know Starcraft?! So I kind of did the intro to the foreigner scene thing, about being glued to OGN and MBC vods, etc. He got all excited, asked if I had a favourite player, was shocked and amazed to see that I knew so many, and he was nuts about NaDa. Anyway, with a general lack of PC Bangs in London we all ended up just playing LAN party style - a bunch of bloody scientists. Who would have thought. I guess stereotypes exist for a reason. Good times. If one of them was a hot chick, though... damn, you'd have to use the jaws of life to put the brakes to me, man!

I suppose the worst case scenario goes like this : you : "Whoa, you play SC?!!" (etc) her : "Um, no, it's my brother's computer - I just borrowed it and this cartoon keeps loading every time I turn it on.... creep" The second worst case scenario goes like this : her : "Yeah, chobo, and you're fuxing my apms...creep" The third worst case scenario goes like this: her : "Yes...." (keeps playing) The fourth worst case scenario goes like this: her : "Wow, you play SC too?" (chat, hang out, share precious but ultimately non-intimate friendship) The fifth worst case scenario goes like this : her : "OMG, HAWT" (rampant SC passion ensues) ...actually the worst-worst case scenario goes like this : you : (...) her : ?

It's not yet Judgement Day and the Return of the King can yet be at hand. All you have to do is charge right into the Eye of the Storm, find your Fighting Spirit, and introduce yourself to the mysterious Outsider at the back of the class before the Shades of Twilight fall upon this opportunity. Lest it be nothing more than Fantasy, you must tap your inner Desperado and take arms against fear, your Nemesis. And should you, like Hannibal, fall at Carthage, it will not be said that you did not fight as though Chariots of Fire sped your course. And if at last the impenetrable Medusa turns your heart to stone and the Tears of the Moon fall upon the battlefield, yea, your final Requiem shall sing to the praise that it is better to have loved and lost than to have never played the game. gg, gl, hf

I mean, you already know there's one thing you have in common, which is a lot better starting point than you'll have with most women you meet, so just enjoy that and let her know that she's interesting for some reason other than your desire to touch her boobies.

Save references to progamers for after you find out whether she actually follows the professional scene. Otherwise, it just makes her really confused. Also, don't get too overexcited while talking to her, it'll make you look kinda weird. Near, or at the end of the conversation, ask her for a game then. That's optional, though. Those reaver jokes or whatnot though, they're kinda creepy. Avoid using those in actual conversation: there's always a risk of the girl understanding them, and then good luck trying to talk to her later.

It's a good way to know other people better. Invite her to a few LAN parties as a friendly gesture. Avoid using those in actual conversation: there's always a risk of the girl understanding them, and then good luck trying to talk to her later. hi asl?

You should always try. Trying never hurts. If you don't try, you fail 100% of the time. If you do try, you have some chance of success, and heck you might learn something. It's win-win. So if the opportunity arises again, just try. I hope you still have chemistry classes left. If you don't try, you're misrepresenting your nickname.

It's surprising how easily you can make friends when starcraft is the common ground.

Seems like it would be obvious as hell. That said, I'd love to see someone in class playing StarCraft. I'd be talking to him/her immediately. It's always super easy to talk to someone when you have a common interest you can use to open.
