So I finally reached #1 in my Beta Gold Division.. So I thought I might give you guys a little bio on me since I am totally stoked 
When I got the key I was already placed into Bronze league, after about 45 mins to an hour of playing I was moved to Silver League
I spent about a day and a half in silver, learned a lot about the mechanics and gameplay of sc2, then I was moved to Gold league
I spent the most time (still am in obviously) Gold league. Blizzard erased my points ;( set me back to 1000 and said to me, "TheComeback (NCX.NCX anyways) you shall fight for your right to be in the gold league. We will start thy on the bottom, and thy will work thyself to the top. Henceforth it will be told in legend. Generations upon generations of young zealots and stalkers will talk about this day of old as the greatest day the protoss race has ever seen."
And so it was...
I fought hundreds of roaches, countless marines, and defended against the traitorous zealot hordes... and I was victorious!!! I climbed the Lost Temple and returned power to Auir, where it rightfully belonged.

Finally got my hands on a sc2 beta last night. Took me 8 hours to get #1 in my gold division. Still don't really know what I'm doing, especially PvT. I just don't understand what half the units do and how to counter them and P units seem way weaker than in sc1. I'm mainly getting by with 2 gate chrono boost openings PvP and PvZ.

After i made it to rank 6 of my gold division i played ReiKo, who bm'd me for being 'lucky' after I warp gate zealot rushed his ass and he countered, failing to take out my pylon + gates first and dying horribly :D
although technically he bm'd me before i did anything, seeing as when i said hi he said shut up <3

Lol Took me quite a while to get the hang of this game, its definatly not broodwars... Im sure you know what I mean. Anyways the odd thing is that in SC1 PvT was definatly my best MU and PVP was my absolute worst... seems in sc2, its the opposite, I dont know if this is because of a lack of terran players and too many toss's. But I'm sure the ppl who watch my stream can vouche that my PvP is getting pretty good

how can your pvp 'get good' if there are only two viable strats? unless you arent using them. just teleport to the finish line (pun intended)

to ^, theres is a lot more than 2 strats.. Just last night playing vs a platinum I successfully Forge fe'd and it worked great, he ended up warp prisming into my base and after I stopped that attack he simply did not know what to do to keep up.. There the robo immortal push.. 1 gate collosus fe.. Sorry but I just dont agree that there is only 2 viable strats

ok, my mistake, there are only 2 viable strats, given that those strats are done correctly. You simply cant counter a 3 warpgate rush, if he does it the right way. The only thing that counters it is 2 gate proxy, and thats a shot in the dark hoping opponent didnt wallin. So at the highest level, its basically 2 gate proxy and 3 warpgate rush only. If you dont believe me that these are the only viable strats, add me ( joklem.joklem) and we can test it out

Sure I'm not the most experienced player, but the speed of the rush combined with the fact that there is no reason not to do it (ie no way for the defender to punish the offender) I think the answer may just be a blizzard patch to warp gates.

Agh I'm jealous, I started in Bronze league as well but I'm struggling to get rank 1 in my gold division, I'm currently rank 6.
