I’m excited, it’s day one of my blog!
Here’s my classically ambitious and hopeful start.
Look, the inception of just another recapitulation life-log.
Oh burdensome criticism, why do you go and break my aspiring heart?
Mark my words, this blog will not be average and ubiquitous;
I’ll start it with a haiku, then include a Shakespearean sonnet!
This tumblr won’t be a victim of negligence,
Each word will be meticulously chosen and elegant.
Eric, your words are cumbersome and you lack simple technique.
Look at your “haiku,” it’s a clumsy five-seven-four,
And that sonnet is neither ten syllables a line nor iambic.
Italics, I hope you’re happy. This blog’s hopes, dreams, and half-rhymes are no more.
Sigh. Another defeated blog, all its naïve and childish promises undone;
So much for that good first impression.
