I've been feeling a lot of stress (as usual) lately so tonight despite the ridiculously chilly wind I went wandering around my local area (Konkuk University etc.) I hope you enjoy the photos. My hands went red when I came inside again because they were so frozen!
I'm wha lik whawha..I reall wha..nowawhawha WHAT...the fuck is up with that cow? Great shots, nevergg.
Thank you. Actually that was my exact thought when I turned a corner and there he was. I stood there for a couple of minutes just staring at it and then began snapping away.
Wow, beautiful. Also, is that japanese characters on the last one? How common are japanese foods in Korea, I was under the impression that it was uncommon.

Thanks ^^ Yes, the Kitagami Ramen Dining shop is modeled after the Japanese style. There are a few of those I've seen dotted around the more student-y areas of Seoul. I really want to go in and try it, but it's such a tiny shop I'm too self-conscious. There are quite a lot of Japanese restaurants here, but the variety of Western and Chinese food is still more diverse and prevalent.
I'm glad you took the time to go out with your camera nice pictures, I dont think I would have been able to shoot such good photos under such bad lighting conditions. What camera/lens did you use?
Really good NeverGG! I always love when you post photos. I can see why you tend to mass photos when u are stressed. With pictures like these, anyone would feel satisfied Cheer up! Stress is normally comes in waves, so i bet this one is gone in a sec.
Umm wow. I'm usually full of critique when people post shots, but I have none for you this time. All of these photos are absolutely superb.
Great job on all of them. There wasn't a single one I didn't like, and I liked every single one of them.
BTW...what did you have your camera set to (specifically which body, ISO and the aperture you were mostly using)? They look great considering how dark it must have been.
Wow, NeverGG, those are really great. I'd like to see more of your non-progaming work. Your ESPORTS stuff is obviously the glorious standard, but you really can flaunt your creativity and observation when it comes to these photos. Of course I don't mean to imply that your progaming photos are void of these features, and your shots of smaller things like a flier on the floor or someone's keyboard bag are some of my favorites. You have to adhere to certain norms when it comes to ESPORTS though.
The point is, if you make a habit of taking photographs to relieve stress, I'd be glad if you would share them.
Truly wonderful photographs here. It definitely looks and feels like Konkuk. These are some of your best that I've seen to date. Thank you for sharing!

Also @PH - Thanks guys I used the EOS5D this time coupled with the f/1.4 50mm lens. It was so cold I didn't want to be spending time fiddling around with focus too much so I went full auto with the ISO set to 800 - a bit high, but it worked out decently enough considering I was running round to stop from becoming a snow(wo)man.

Thank you - I totally understand where you're coming from. With eSports aside from special events there's not a massive variety of locations/items/people to shoot. I think that's why my fan-meeting and finals shots are usually more popular because we see a range of different things. Whereas with the non-eSports stuff I can go wild and there's always something new to capture.
I'm hoping the weather perks up a bit more so I can go explore some of the other parks and shopping districts. When my Mum visits in April/May please expect a lot more photos because I am far more motivated and confident about non-eSports photography when I'm with someone else.
The focus seems off; it just doesn't look right :/
anyway I really like your still life and city photos, but i think you should try to incorporate more people in your street photography. at least from a reader/viewer's point of view, I want to know about the life and social scene of South Korea, as well as it's quirky and bright city scene. And as a photog myself, i totally get what you're saying. Strolling and taking photos in a big city can be very relaxing

I've never played with photographing fire/smoke before and I definitely want to do it again. As for the other shot - towards the end it was getting hard to even hold the camera and my fingers were cramping up. It's still -8ish here ;_; I need to find some thin, but decently insulated gloves. When I went back inside my hands swelled up so badly.
Also as I'm not being paid for these photos and they're not for something specific like my eSports work then I'm not looking to take 'perfect' shots all the time. I just want to play around and relax so I don't usually go crazy putting pressure on myself. This type of photography is my stress relief stuff.
If I do day time shots I'll try to incorporate more captions into the posts, but it was 10pm by the time I finished and I had been at work all day/have work today so I was too tired to do more than edit them and then post. I usually just tend to answer people's specific questions if they ask them in the thread itself.
Omg sweet photos. I especially love the mirror one. If you had done a better angle on this one:

Yes!! Once it gets warm let's hit up the 종로 area!! I don't like frost bitten hands. I want a smaller lens I think, I might just get the f/1.4 50, that's what my friend Tom's been recommending too. Plus I need to get a stupid card reader since the one they gave me broke!

I literally couldn't get any closer because there was a bike in the way and I'm not going to move people's stuff and risk getting my ass kicked for a photo -_-; As I said it's meant to be relaxing so I'm not seeking 'perfect' photos - just a break from a very stressful month.

I've been telling you to go and ask them for a replacement for ages! The f/1.4 50mm is pretty good and it's about the same price as the one you have. I've not been to Jongro very often so it'd be good to go somewhere else. I've heard there are temples in the Anguk area? Also I need to go to City Hall and the Royal Palace.

I remember the first time I went to Korea, a couple of friends sprained their wrists on these machines.
With the punching ones it always seems to be guys trying to impress their girlfriends or huge groups of drunk boys using them. I have a giggle every time I see it happening.

I just haven't had the time to get to Yongsan. Bleh... I should soon but it's just so darn cold!
I know - I'm still too self-conscious to go and get it connected. It's really awkward if they don't speak English and stuff. Is it me, or did it get colder again? I know it tried to snow a couple of times last week, but thankfully it didn't stick.
