any way to like punch some babies to make this DL finish? (it's a torrent), shit's been stuck at 99.8% for 2 days >_>

it's uh, compilation of Tool's songs in concert, supposed to be good ... I prefer Tool's live sound much better to their album versions, so I want it T_T

torrents do that alot of the time and if that happens they often never finish because the world likes to mess with you

It's very possible that there have been 0 seeds the whole time and there was some other peer stuck at 99.8% also that you have caught up with.

Fuck, I hate when this happens. Your music will have like 2 songs that skip for a couple seconds, but will drive you fucking crazy because of it, lol.

I have a torrent that's been sitting at 99.8% for two weeks despite there being two seeds. There's about 15 other peers, all also stuck at 99.8%.

That happened to me a lot when I was using bitcomet. After I switched to utorrent, it started happening less, but it still happens.

I dunno how to fix this.

I don't know details but I find that I can't connect to a fair amount of seeds/peers.

Could it be differences in who does and doesn't force encryption for data transfer?

You could probably copy the unfinished torrent downloaded file (for backup) to another location, then download a different torrent client and point it to the unfinished copy and run the same .torrent file.

uhm, deleting that torrent (not the actual files) and downloading it again usually worked for me. It would do rehash or whatever and just continue from 99.8.

Maybe the seeds are purposely fucking with you

They get you to 99.8% and then limit their upload to 1 byte/sec

double check that the 0.2% is actually part of the songs/section that you care about; many times worthless notepad info files and other small shits are left out

also double check that you didn't accidentally set the priorities of certain files to 'do not download' at some point during the dl (assuming you are using utorrent or vuze; i dont know if other torrent clients have this feature)

anyways, if you can, just dl the specific song that is missing a chunk from somewhere else.
if the song/song version isn't that popular anyways, it's actually easier to find direct dl links (hosted by rapidshare, megaupload, other random sites etc) by googling rather than torrenting.

Hardly, most of the time nfo, preview pics, whatever not entirely necessary are the first to finish. But yes, check the file, see if it actually matters (not familiar with Tool or their music).

Since its 0.2 % at most you will lose one song (provided its not a rar). Just check what the missing part is about.

Just re-torrent it, it's faster that way..

I rarely torrent these days... but when I did this was the subject of many of my rages. VLC media player can actually play some media files that are only partially done, like videos. Unfortunately this puts you in sort of a progressive anxious state where you're left eventually thinking that you can watch a movie file thats only about a third of the way done. I mean... that's basically all you need to follow the plot right? It only gets annoying when you're trying to fap to it and all the good parts haven't downloaded yet.

The TSL torrent with the first game is stuck at 84 % for me, and everyone else it seems. Hate when people create a torrent and dont seed it properly, even if its TL!
