when they started putting the drugs in, it felt cold and numb for me, they gave me an oxygen mask and in 30 seconds i was asleep. i can't remember going to another room, but apparently i was walked there. you're probably going to sleep a lot as the anesthesia wears off. make sure you have someone make a schedule of your pills for you and force you to take them, because on the first day, I mixed up my penicillin with my tylenol 3 and that was awkward. don't expect to get any work done while you're off. oh, and ever since my surgery, the left side of my tongue is numb and feels like i swallowed a lozenge, and food tastes terrible on that side now. like drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth, it's awful. i had my surgery about 2 weeks ago, and i thought the numbness would go away with the swelling buttttt, it hasn't. so, yeah.

Just relax as much as possible and you should be fine. If it hurts a lot, take the painkiller and lie down. When you lie down, try to prop your back up just a bit so you're at an angle otherwise you'll probably swallow some blood and whatnot.

Getting the operation itself wasn't bad, I was chilling in the chair and they put laughing gas on me and I was trying to talk to them cause I was nervous. Then they were hooking an IV up to me and I wa slike "...I don't... like that you... poking me with that neeeedle" and they said "just breathe deep you wont mind" and then i was like 'yaaaaa I dont mind, this laughing gas is goood" then they were like "you on a lot more than laughing gas now." So I just looked up and I was thinking "fuck I'm high right now" then I was out. Woke up all fucked up feeling and I had gauss wrapped around my face / could see bloody mess around me. Walking was hard after I got up but the oxy's they gave me were enjoyable. I was just really really hungry afterwards. I think I had hamburger helper the 2nd day, possibly first night. I mostly just ate slimfast / omelettes. Wasn't bad,

Also when you first wake up you aren't aware what you're doing at all because the shit fucks with you.

I had it pretty bad, all four of my teeth were impacted and growing in all fucked up, sideways and shit.I opted for sedation, took valium the night and morning before the surgery, didn't eat anything that morning either. Got the I.V in and knocked me out within 20 seconds or so.... The next few days were a blur, basically take your meds, rinse your mouth out with warm salt water to sterilize to empty holes in your gums, eat soft foods, etc. Gonna be shitty for a few days, just try to get plenty of rest, that's the best way to cope with it. Think it was worse for me then most people, not because my teeth were impacted so much but because the Vicodin they gave me was just too strong for me back then I guess because it made me feel fucking terrible....:/ oh, and ever since my surgery, the left side of my tongue is numb and feels like i swallowed a lozenge, and food tastes terrible on that side now. like drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth, it's awful. i had my surgery about 2 weeks ago, and i thought the numbness would go away with the swelling buttttt, it hasn't. so, yeah. Eh I would really get that checked out if its still like that 2 weeks down the road, could have been nerve damage during the procedure ~_~

1. It hurts. ALOT. Meds=best friend... ever (many people say it wasnt that bad, but I never experienced so much soreness :[ ). You may have different experiences. 2. Get something to pick out the food particles with. Like a water pick (dental hygiene aisle. Shoots water out and cleans the empty hole of food particles). 3. Swish around salt water to clean out the wounds. 4. Don't eat anything to get that can get lodged or stuck in there (obvious one). I may be missing some, but I think that covers it. Oh, forgot to add that after the first week, you should be good. I'm feeling a lot better now and am glad to have gotten it out the way.
