I'm leaving for Dominican republic in 2 weeks, 1100$ for 1 week all inclusive, I'm pretty excited because it's the first time I'm traveling outside my country and taking the plane.I'm going there with 2 other friends, we're 18 and we're pretty much gonna get wasted every single day.
Since I've never took the plane, I'm wondering how is the security in the aiports? The thing is, we wanna bring a few ecstacy pills with us, it would be the best time to have an awesome trip and I'm wondering if it's possible to get them through the security systems.
I know they have dogs that can smell weed very easily but can they smell 3-4 ecstacy pills in a luggagge? And can they detect them with the X-rays? I just can't see how they would notice a few different pills in the bottom of a box of tylenol for example.
I just wanna know if it's too dangerous to get caught, I don't need ecstacy to enjoy the trip but if it's possible then why not?

To be honest, I think it's a pretty retarded idea to take drugs on holiday. Why risk it?
Whatever measures you take to get them through the security checks, no matter how sure you are that you can do it there's always the possibility you'll get caught. Maybe even for a stupid reason you'd never consider.

This is your first holiday outside of Canada. It's a big trip and you're going with friends, are you seriously going to have a shit time and not enjoy anything because you didn't take drugs with you? Will it ruin everything if you can't trip?
I don't know which airport you're flying from but I know Dorval at least uses the handheld scanners for substances in carry on luggage and with new developments in explosive and narcotic detectors, see here, the chances of getting caught are increasing rapidly.
And what happens if you do get caught?
Hello criminal record, hello being banned from multiple airlines/airports as well as having your name and photo added to the passenger blacklist, hello possible fines, a shit load more serious stuff and oh HI! having to explain that to your family.
My personal views on recreational drug use are vaguely tolerant if people are doing it in the privacy of their own home or at a close friend's but I really don't think it's a great idea to risk fucking up your holiday and possibly your future when you've got the opportunity to have a fantastic time without any risk at all.

Don't encourage him. People (like Americans and Canadians) have ended up in Jail for years in foreign countries because they tried to do stupid shit like this. Your advice is probably right if he's insistent, but there's always a chance of getting caught (see one of the above posts) and I doubt the OP has actually researched what happens in the Dominican Republic if you are caught smuggling in Ecstasy.

Well. Maybe dogs won't find it or smth like that. (I actually do not know what the tylonel is for, but i assume it's for the "drug-dogs").
Even though they will not find you with dogs there is still the chance they will pick you just as a random inspection. If they do so, you can be 100% sure that if you have drugs with you, they will find it. (with three 18 yo the chance isn't even that low that they will pick you)
You should consider that the week will be awesome nonetheless and if they do find your drugs, you could have ruined everything. totally not worth it.
Edit: I have just found out what tylonel is. Are you serious? If they do a random inspection, they will look at every single pill (as long as the inspector take his job serious - and the most do so).
The risk is not in canada or with the x-rays but when you are in dominican republic and want to get out of the security-area. Which is even worse or do you know what the punishment for drugs in dominica republic is (probably not as "mild" as in canada)?

I'm not familiar with how thoroughly you are searched if they decide to inspect you a bit more carefully. I will say however that I doubt highly that people trained to search for drugs would be unfamiliar with the idea of someone putting illegal pills in with legal pills. I think you'll be fine as long as you aren't chosen for a more careful search, which I don't even know if they do actually.

Uh... do you have any clue what the penalty is for possessing drugs in most South America countries?
When I was in Ecuador I found out you can get the Death Penalty for simply having them on you...
This isn't your cushy Canada where they don't care what the hell you do, this is a place where violence from the drug trade has killed thousands of people.
If you get searched you are going to either spend a very long time in jail,
or a very short time followed by a very long time in a box.

I think taking drugs to an airport is one of the worst decision you can make. Sure, more often than not you can probably take a few E pills through airport security without notice. But the consequences of getting caught are massive compared to the pro's of getting them through.

I never seriously considered smuggling drugs. It's just that I never took the plane so I was wondering out of curiosity if there was an easy way not to get caught. I have no idea of the security levels and trying various methods to see if it works isn't really an option, so I just asked in blog to have some infos. If everyone assured me it was easily possible, the risk would have been well worth it.

I'm not a tourist, for 1100$, i'm in a beautiful hotel with pools and gyms and restaurants, it's hot and sunny, it's relax and the only adults around are serving you anything you want for free. you just chill and drink on the beach for a week.
