What makes a women, as you describe "typical", would be for them to like a jerk over a "nice" guy. What makes a girl like a guy? The average internet dude would often say that personality and being nice is their selling point but that often is just a excuse to try to hide the fact they are the shy kid who likes the girl friend. I was once that guy till I figured: A girl is attracted to a guy because they have a real selling point/something tangible or ability to offer. It can be talent, intelligence(while avoiding looking like a nerd), looks, leadership, money, sports etc(each variable has different attractiveness values depending on girl). This is just natural in any species. What do you have to offer(being nice does not count) this girl for her to like you? Are you the alpha male in your group of friends? Are you talented at/ have the things she finds attractive? If not you have 2 options: Lower your standards cause you don't meet that girl's standards Improve yourself to show you can meet the girl's standards Also, becoming friends with a girl is no big issue about whether or not you can date her. It just so happens that more often than not, the guys that do go for the friend route before asking her out cannot offer her enough/do not know what to offer for the girl to accept them as her boyfriend. If you do meet her standards even if you do befriend, eventually she will find you attractive and the obvious signs will appear, show her you are interested and bam. Its never gg. Just impove yourself till you become more attractive to the girl. | ||

If a girl "friend-zones" you, it's simply because she was never interested in the first place. Friend-zoning, if anything, occurs instantaneously because the friend-zoned guy in question doesn't appear to be boyfriend material. It's a hard truth, but friend-zoning isn't a line you cross. It's a line that exists and always will until you make yourself more attractive. | ||

As for the friend zone issue, at least you realize its not worth pursuing for anything other than friendship at this point.
