This is all high-end designer stuff, correct? Like Prada, Gucci, Louis V, and so on? The site says up to 70% off, but what is the average price range on there? I'm almost certain I'd still pay a couple hundred dollars for just about anything, but it could be worthwhile. Also, if you become a member, there are no requirements on making purchases, are there (like, you don't have to spend X number of dollars in X amount of time)?

It's mostly high-end designer stuff, but also some more "common" brands like Ralph Lauren, Ecko, etc. Actually it's rare to see what you would consider "ultra-high-end" brands like Prada and Gucci, but all the clothing is from respected makers. The average price range is…most stuff is between $50 and $150. Basically, the discounts knock off the "designer premium" that you pay simply for a label or style, so that you'll end up paying what you would at a generic good clothing store like Martin+Osa or whatever. All of the items are heavily discounted from "retail" price but that doesn't always make them good buys. And if you want to get a really good deal, you have to be on top of your shit because stuff just flies once a sale opens. I've only been a member for a couple months and I haven't bought anything. A lot of the stuff is pretty "loud" for my tastes, or too – for lack of a better word – fine (the selection is geared towards professionals, types that can afford to dress to the nines both at work and out). If you are looking for a hipper, younger, more casual style you will not find too much at GILT.

So on and so forth. I have yet to buy anything there, but it might be possible to buy stuff from there and then sell it on ebay and make $100 - $200 per item. Who knows?

Are the brands, in general, better than what you'd find at Nordstrom's (regular priced), or pretty much the same?

You won't see anything on GILT that is not either a big label or a "specialty line" (e.g. obscure Swedish rain gear maker).

I guess this is where I'm getting confused. I assume you don't mean common brands like RL or Ecko and such. Like Monarchy or something? Guess? 7s, Diesel, TR, etc? Those brands, or?
