hi everyone
I think it's an interesting thing that animals make different sounds in different languages. for example dogs say "woof" or "ruff" in english, where as in chinese they say "wang" and in korean they say "mang". another example is cows who say "moo" in english, but they say "mar" in chinese.
so, what do different animals say in your languages?

In dutch, a rooster says kukeleku (with the u sound as in use). I think rooster sounds vary greatly across languages.
And dutch cows say booo

In hungarian, dogs say "vau", cows say "mú" (thats basisally the same as the english moo), roosters say "kukurikú"

I'm not from Hong Kong, but I've heard the frogs there say "Gwa Gwa" instead of "ribbit"

ro frogs say 'oac-oac'
dogs say 'ham' . It's unlike how you pronounce ham in American English, the 'a' is very 'dry' (for lack of a better description). I think it better resembles a UK English 'a', like maybe in the word 'craft'.

kids will be surprised at stuff like this. it's really interesting to them.
japanese: cats go 'nyaa', dogs 'wan', roosters go 'kokkekokko', cows go 'mou' (kinda like 'more' but stopping before the 'r'), frogs go 'kero kero' (wtf? odd one)
some japanese animals can say their own names. they're called pokemon.

in german a cow says "muh" which sounds like the english "moo". a cat says "miau", a rooster "kikeriki" and a dog "wau" or "wuff".
|
ita frog "crak" cat "miao"
|
In Vietnamế
a dog goes "gau gau", a cat goes "meo meo" ...................
|
How about ducks? Do other ducks say quack?
|
French cats: Miaou dog: Wouaf wouaf duck: coin coin
|
In portuguese it goes like this:
cow: moo dog: ão ão cat: mi-au crickets: cri cri rooster: cócórocó

I'm sure this is already well known, but here in USA Animal onomatopoeia are written:
Dog = Ruff x2/Woof x2/Bow-wow/Bark x2 Cat= Meow/Mow (not like moe, more like meow with out the E) Chicken/Rooster= Buk x2/ Cock a doodle doo Crickets don't have an onomatopoeia afaik, they just 'chirp'. Frog = Ribbit x2/ Croak Crow= Caw x2 + Show Spoiler + in any language Lion goes ROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR and you run.
PS- Female version of 'fap fap fap' is 'shik shik shik' lawl Makes me think of the wolverine sound 'schlikt' when his bone claws come out.
