as you see most of them are Electronica but that is not a restriction.
so any more bands I should check out and look for good tunes. Anything goes that is not too hardcore (so that everyone is happy) also I don't like trance either...

Trust me dude, put oldies on there. Everyone knows oldies and can sing along. I've had to do this stuff so many times and oldies are always a good way to go. That and some classic rock. Everything else is just trying to please everyone which is always hard.
Kinda depends what youre going for with the music... What kind of ppl are coming, do you want it to be just the background or something with more presence, what kind of mood you wanna set etc. But well play my suggestions in any case.
