First off I'd like to say congrats on your appearance at Miss USA. The SC2 community was definitely rooting for you! Now my question.. I saw this article on Huffingtonpost where they reported that only 2 out of the 50 contestants, Miss California and Miss Massachusetts, stated that they "fully believed in evolution" during the competition. As a graduate student in theoretical biological physics, I found this quite appalling. I can't stress how much of a tragedy it is that scientific illiteracy is so rampant in America. Is this article simply a misrepresentation of the contestants? I could not find your response anywhere but am curious about your views. Do you believe in evolution, and do you think that it should be taught in schools? link edit: I just looked around a bit more and stumbled across this. Miss Oregon's response is at 11:15. So your response answered my second question but not my first. However, I am curious as to what other theories you believe you should be given "a shout out." Evolution is the only scientific theory I am aware of on the origin of species. | ||

Whoa my. LOL @ searching for truth and not investigating evolution and/or discarding it on Jesus-y grounds. Hard to search for the truth when you start with "true" and work backwards from there. This thread has been illuminating though. Mostly because I can disregard anything InControl ever says ever again. Hard to take someone's critical thinking seriously who believes Christianity is remotely true and that vaginas are holy temples of worship that can not be entered without believing in imaginary skypeople. | ||

We have a few exciting things in the works that may bring us geographically closer here in the near future, as I become more heavily involved in e-sports.  So hopefully it won't be too much longer....Unless I'm Miss USA, then we have to talk about him moving to New York! Haha thats so sweet falling asleep to incontrols stream and pretending that hes there next to you... sounds like you have a very strong relationship to say the least | ||

My father is both a respected Rabbi and a respected nuclear physicist (yeah...) and he's explained to me many times hat he believes evolution was simply god's method of implementing intelligent design. I personally don't believe that but now that all that drama has blown over I was curious to ask you this. | ||

For the record I want to let you know you don't look anything like a vamp tranny to me (sry to bring that up but I just watched SotG Ep. 41), you look like a fucking miss USA contestant. I just wanna ask what your future SC2 plans are. I enjoyed watching your MLG Dallas interviews and I was hoping you would be interviewing people at MLG Columbus. Basically, i guess the heart of my question is do you plan on doing interviews in any future tournaments? EDIT: PS I just wanna say ur BF is awesome. I got banned from his stream for being an all around ass hole and I send him a PM explaining what had happened and how I was at fault and he unbanned me right there on the spot. Basically I just wanna say you found a great guy  | ||

But I'm also feel something's been lacking, a rational explanation why I couldn't vote for uncontrollable, or any of the 48 candidates who supported intelligent design. I'm from a science background since high school, and science is a greater part of me than games or family. When I hear about intelligent design being forced to be mentioned as alternatives to evolution in text books, I feel afraid for science, and I think about all the news about states like kansas trying to remove evolution, the Scopes trial, the church's persecution of Galileo. Of course there's a big difference between someone believing something and someone trying to force other people to believe something, and technically that fear only kicks in for the latter. But the trouble is I don't know whether a statement of belief implies advocacy. Though beauty pageant contestants don't define public policy, maybe a vote implicitly supports what the contestant supports. So I can't risk the vote, even if it is a insignificant and oversimplified representation of a completely unrelated contest. It's like someone who feels strongly about gay rights being unable to vote for a candidate who doesn't support gay marriage. My ability to vote or abstain to vote for science means more than any satisfaction I would have for supporting an intelligent woman who supports esports. I hope any criticisms are at heart more in line of what I was thinking, as opposed to actual personal attacks. And I hope a former debate team member doesn't pick apart what I think is an earnest justification :-) | ||

Usually, it has less to do with her not understanding the game, and more to do with her desire to share in your passions, and to feel important. I support Geoff because I understand his goals, and I passionately want him to achieve them. I'm able to do that because he makes sure to balance the pursuit of his passions with the support of me and mine. Girls just wanna feel important to you. Explain to her how much more meaningful Starcraft would be if you could share it with her. Little by little, she may come around. PS - there are a lot of similar questions to this early on in th thread, so be sure to check those out if you like. | ||

Living together is one of the hardest things to do with another person, and love is not always enough to overcome fundamental disagreements. You can't really know what a person is like in their private home life until you actually live with them for an extended period of time. My fiancee and I have been engaged since May last year, but she was living with me from November of the previous year. We live together in my small 1 bed 1 bath unit. Its a small place, but we are a good match to each other, we have similar views on how neat a house should be, and if you can live with someone in that sort of environment you can endure anything that comes up. But we wouldn't have known that until we did live together, and you're taking a massive risk on a lot of things when you treat marriage as the beginning of a life together rather than as part of the journey, ESPECIALLY if you've waited for sex too. Uh... What is your question? | ||
