Ya everyone knows Macs absolutely suck dick for gaming.
Anyone that buys a mac for GAMING is wasting their money(I won't even go into how much the macs price is to make up for all the vista bashing advertising they do..not defending vista..just saying). I'm guessing your company didn't intend to use their macs for gaming They probably just didn't want to deal with viruses that no one bothers making for macs(but if they did..mac would be just as vunerable).

Also, native windowed mode on all blizzard games? that's pretty cool. Its handled by OSX so there is very little fucking up of the image like there would be on windows.

I use a mac. The thing is, I have no problem with it. You know why? First, I got used to the Fn thing. It was gay, but I got used to it, and it isn't a problem Second, which is key, I DON'T USE OS X TO PLAY GAMES. Partition, then boot up a copy of XP or Win7. Set the Fx keys so they aren't the presets (i.e. volume, brightness. To get these, you press Fn) so you can save locations in SC. Third, BUY A MOUSE. Even if you were using a PC laptop, you wouldn't play using a trackpad, despite it being easier than "multi touch."
It's really all a matter of preference. But if you have a Mac, do what you can, and it is usually enough. As for transitioning to regular keyboards/computers. Maybe the first game you'll have a bit of an issue, but you adjust and get used to it. Not a problem at all.
EDIT: Just read xflaws. I've been a mac user for a long time, but I agree with pretty much all of those statements, haha. That's why I use both.

I'm not on a mac but my Fn key is bugging the hell out of me. I got a keyboard for it but it's not very portable. :l I just wish they made the Fn key switchable in the bios or something, jesus.

ahah
no, seriously, the question is : if mac is such a damn good OS, why do I have to dual boot ? Everyone's puking on Windows but I can do everything on it... without dual booting on Mac OS. So basically, if you have a Mac, you still have to buy Windows. AHAH.

EDIT: Statement for Mac fanatics (though I doubt there are very many here). I am sick of mac-fags. By me saying mac-fags, I mean people who live their life against Windows, sleep with their mac, and warm their house with FireWire. Yes, I use a mac, but no, I am not a mac-fag. I personally use both operating systems, not only so I understand how to use both, instead of living a narrow minded life (technologically), but I think that Windows has it's pros and its cons, as well as OS X. Neither of them are perfect, neither are worthy of doing everything. So when people say that other OSes suck just because they like the one that they use, it just irritates the hell out of me. OS X has created some of the most obnoxious fans, and I am just thankful most people use PC. Not because of the OS, mind you. Just because the PC users tend to be less obnoxious. No one goes around saying, "Hey look at me! I'm using Windows 7. Aren't I cool? It works better than your computer because it's cooler! I'm not going to back this up with any significant proof, but I know why I'm better, and haha you suck!"
Okay.. /rant.
EDIT2: SC on a Mac is nice for the purposes of native windowed mode, and it seems to resize the resolution better (on some screens). But, it's really only good to watch replays, or do some micro maps. Lack of iCCup Launcher or ChaosLauncher, or really any other 3rd party software added to SC makes it relatively useless.

Before I begin, I appologize for any harsh/personal comments:
You know, I am glad atleast you have an opinion based on experience. Its great, because most PC users just say "Macs sux" and thats it.
However, do not call people retarded because they have a preference for something. I can tell you many Windows users stuck up about their OS as well. They dont mind having gigs of anti virus software that is a must for windows, as you can not even go on Teamliquid without getting a virus, and trial software that no one uses.
Yes I agree, Macs are not that great for gaming, but for the record, games are designed on a mac, and because 85% of the world is using Windows because of controversial issues in the 80's and 90's, they have to import their graphics and re code it all on Windows. That should speak for itself.
That 1 click mouse is not meant for gaming. If I was blessed enough to have an iMac, I would switch it to a Razor or what not when I am playing. However, I have found using that 1 click mouse to be far easier to control for programs such as Photoshop.
Just because you hate it doesnt mean someone else does to.
Now, for your problems, just google for it.

In my junior year they bought an entire computer lab full of macs - what a mistake. They were so slow that they couldn't run Word and Firefox at the same time, and they would often hard freeze - to the point where you would have to rip the power chord out of the wall just to get them to turn off so they could restart and boot up for 20 minutes. The next year they were replaced with PC's that had 5x the specs and only cost 1/4 the amount.

You can turn off mouse accleration from the terminal. Google it.
You can also command click (the apple button) do right click.
the function key only really interferes with binding and recalling map locations. Just hit the spacebar a lot. Your bound to end up in the right place eventually.
are you on crack? fine, your first piece of advice might be sound, but im sure he would love to have to hold an extra button down every time he wants to right click instead of just using a different finger. also, im sure taking your advice to jam the spacebar hoping it will do the job sometimes will get him straight to A+.

LOL Can you give me the source for that statement? It makes no sense to create a game outside of its native environment, and if you look at the guided tours through development studios you can pretty clearly see that they are using PC's. Honestly i think you just pulled that out of your ass because very few professional game companies that i can think of would use Mac's to develop their software.

You should stop speaking for yourself.

If you're using a mouse, you can set it so right click works normally.
If you're using the new mbp, you can set it so the bottom right corner is right click.

uhhhh...no. games are made on windows mostly. :| where'd you even get that piece of information from.

OS X is an amazing operation system and I love using my MacBook Pro for a lot of things (coding/photoshopping/all that kind of stuff), but I won't use it to play games. You can just feel on the desktop it doesn't have the kind of mouse input you need to play games like StarCraft/Quake. It's annoying, but it's true.
You can disable mouse accel (I've gotten rid of it via USB Overdrive or something like that), but the mouse input is still pretty horrid, so it's much better to just bootcamp XP or Windows 7 if you want to do any gaming.

By the way, you can use any mouse you want on a Mac and right-click works perfectly.
