Help with photoshop (can't remember)

captainwaffles United States1050 Posts August 20 2009 20:08 GMT #1 I was looking for a new wallpaper, couldn't find anything I liked, so I looked at some photoshop stuff I did from last year in school, here they are: I can not for the life of me remember how I made these pictures, what types of tools/brushes would one use to make something like the pics mentioned above? EDIT-Found out how do the first one.

theobsessed1 United States576 Posts August 20 2009 20:15 GMT #3 No idea where you got the brushes... is the first design a brush itself? like the entire glowy thing? or is it a bunch of lines you personally made? im almost sure you used the blending options for that, at least outer glow and such... i think i have no idea how you did the colors for that, other than probably a new layer with a gradient on top (rainbow colored) with an overlay or soft light effect or something of the sort. just some reasonable guesses >_>

But in a more conventional way, for the first one, you could use the pen tool, and then using the gradient tool to color it using a mask. The second one is probably just the gradient too again and then some artistic filters added.

gLyo United States2410 Posts August 20 2009 22:18 GMT #6 2nd one looks like it could be a texture (maybe a type of stone?) with a render clouds layer over it and a few other layers for the color spot. I don't think you'd need any special brushes or filters (aside from the clouds). I think the difficulty is figuring out what to set each layer effect to.
