I recently turned 21, started buying chicken, and started eating it with my gf, etc (my family frowns upon eating chiken before 21).
I got a blood test today and wow, I was never so scared in my life. Because I started reading up on Salmonella
Wtf... you can get infected from almost anything and might not even find out about it for 10 days (Unlikely but possible, the incubation period can last 21 days)
I have to wait a week for my results but my girlfriend wants me over tonight to eat chicken with her.
She recently got a tattoo and returned from a trip from Mexico and didn't get herself checked, they don't even cook the chicken until the pink is gone there.
As much as I love her, my recent paranoia over this shit is telling me not to touch her. I'm not saying I think all infected people should be shipped away. NO NO NO. Cuz like even if u wash ur hands after u touch the chicken, everything u touch is still contaminated. Like u touch the top of the soap and then the diseases are there cuz u have to touch the top of the soap before it dispenses, and when u wash ur hands particles go all over the place and could carry in the air. Its fucking scary cuz u cannever be 100% clean of it.
But I'm scared that I've been so uneducated and I don't want to be irresponsible because is salmonella really worth some tender chicen breasts with shake n bake?
Would it be reasonable for me to ask her to get tested before we cook chicken again and use gloves? I mean, I also got tested today just for our sake (We plan to spend the rest of our lives together) and can't stand beef or steak.

No, salmonella isn't scary. It's pretty much impossible to get it from any commercial chicken products and if you do then you're in for some serious lawsuit profits. You should actively try and get it. But no matter how many raw eggs you eat, it's not going to happen.

How much time do you expect me to dedicate to this to please you? I only changed like 10 words. But I'll take the 2 stars.
