Basically.. The current system of amature casters using services like YouTube is really really good from the viewer standpoint. The GomTV clean source system doesn't seem like it matches up (from the end-user experience, no idea if it is easier for the casters themselves). Harder to navigate, harder to find videos, lower quality, etc etc. But on the otherhand if people using it is going to further encourage GomTV to keep extending their reach to the foreign community; it is a good thing. I am just not looking forward to the inevitable day when suddenly OGN/MBC/GOM decide to start sending shakedown letters to youtubed matches. :| Starting to gear up their own fan-cast systems seems like a (small) step in that direction. But if the result of walking in that direction is professional english casting for the other leagues as well... Then perhaps that is a worthy trade off.

This post sounds like a relatively favorable review of the system.

Anyways this opinion is based on assumptions I made, does anyone know if those assumptions were correct or not?

If you could cast it in your native language and then try and get your friends to watch SC with you - the bigger the foreign community gets. Definably a plus- if you don't speak english or korean, who is going to cast for you? This allows everyone to try to cast, not just english speakers/korean speakers. That being said, I bet that if you try to cast in english/korean, not very many people are going to choose to listen to you over choosing to listen to tasteless.

Given the ammount of korean i've picked up purely from watching VODs, i'm sure watching a few spanish, french, italian & german casts would do my vocabulary good. Any words i'm not familiar with - i'll look 'em up, but mostly you can figure it out from context unless it's a local reference or saying.

Ah good point, I was typical english speaking person assuming all people speak english.
