The future of commentary has arrived...
With the advances in computer processing and internet speed things have come along way since 2001. After the introduction of replays to Starcraft it was not long until people started to make commentaries of various replays using the technology of RWA. Even more recently the youtube explosion prompted many people to begin casting vods of professional starcraft matches. This fad exploded all over the Starcraft scene and attracted a number of new fans to the world of Progaming. Now, GOMTV is going one better than that - they are giving you the opportunity to broadcast your own stream featuring your very own commentary.
What GOM has done is release the Clean Source of VODs/live games and allow users to commentate over the Clean Source with GOMCast Studio - creating their own live commentary (or commentary int he case of a regular VOD). The Clean Source is simply the VOD of the game before the commentary audio is added to the in-game audio. Hence it is just the video + in-game audio.
Now I know that not everyone is into the whole commentating on games thing, so for all the technical information regarding this awesome new service check out this page for the information on how to broadcast and you can get GOMCast Studio from here or the main page. Whereas all the generic information for casting can be found here. You can practice commentating on the VODs from the Clean Source library and get ready for casting the GOMTV Finals yourself!
For those of your who prefer to listen to these commentated streams, which is probably the majority of you, check out http://www.gomtv.net/cast/ for some commentated vods and check out the awesome quality of these casters. Once the GOMTV Classic Final airs you will be able to view the user broadcasts live! So get ready to listen to your friends casting
The GOMTV Finals will be airing on Sunday and will be the next opportunity to cast live. You will have the option to listen to the Korean Stream, English Stream or any of the user streams. This is a great opportunity for users who speak different languages to Korean and English to cast the series for other users from their country! The possibilities for GOMCast Studio are endless! Let your imagination and casting abilities run wild and let's make the GOMTV Classic Finals the most enjoyable finals in a long long time !
