It's not about morals, it's about keeping the ratings accurate so they're not meaningless.

Lol Hot_Bid wins. Blogging isn't a competition. The rating system should give you a general idea of what people thought about your writing, it shouldn't give you bragging rights to say "im ranked 7 on TL blogs with a score of 4.5 out of 5" because frankly, nobody cares except for you guys. Hot_Bid is just trying to help you get over it by showing you the system has little meaning and is mostly for fun.

P.S. letting people know how much it pisses you off that they rate your blogs a 1 is the easiest way to get targeted by a malicious user. Now if you beef with anyone they can get back at you with the push of a button..

Because? I personally don't consider it much of a competition either, but if the rating system is reasonably accurate, then there's no reason not to try to have the best rating. Appealing to the readers is good. If you don't care about your rating, then don't worry about it so long as you don't get your blogs closed... but there's no reason to complain that other people shouldn't care.

Which it certainly doesn't if people play significant amounts of hankie pankie like they have before. Either it is meant to be fairly accurate, or it isn't meant to be accurate at all. No in-between really works. If he was trying to help people get over it, he would have targeted people who seriously cared about their own ratings (like plexa who seriously deserves a good rating).
