It seems (T)MMA is missing a loss to (T)ZeNEXNuke in the GSTL2 on 11-2-08, it has him at 3 wins without a loss.

Edit: Thanks, now I feel sad for dropping MMA out of a tie with Nestea on ELO, haha.

Hey I just wanted to post firstly to say that I love the TLPD ELO rankings for SC2 and check them at least a couple of times every week, it's great to have a rating like that based on tournament performance to see who the best players in the world right now are.

I don't like this idea, simply because of the fact korea is very isolated. International events with korean participants could be listed in the international TLPD but there will be a majority of tournemants where only foreigners or only koreans will participate. Because of this reason it makes no sense to match both TLPD together.

Another question I would love to ask ist how the ELO calculating system works. Did you add just one entry after another and the system will calculate? This leads to a new question: If you add some later results, that were forgotten (like MMA vs Nuke) is the system calculating complete new from then until now? Or is it all your own handwork?

The system automatically updates and accounts for the games when we add something that is a bit dated.

Why are the World Championship games under International in TLPD rather than being under Korean?
HOLY CHECK!

Although it takes place in Seoul, it is an international tournament. It's the world championship, and half the players are citizens of countries other than korea.

Antoine, I'd disagree with that sentiment. In the past there have been a number of foreigners competing in the GSL, but it is ultimately a Korean event as are all tournaments run by GomTV in Korea. When foreigners play in Korea, I think they should be recorded as having played a Korean event in that TLPD rather than be shuffled in with all the other international events; it's more noteworthy in that sense.

Its an international tournament being organized by GomTV, with little connection to the larger GSL. Players were not limited to those living year-round in Korea, they were flown in to play. They didn't fly in to be a part of the larger GSL scene, they flew in as a one time event. Winners are afforded no extra benefits in the GSL as a whole. The only connection the event had to other GomTV events was its selection process of Korean participants. Despite it being played in Korea it was still largely an international event and will be treated as such in the future.

When Flash was changed to Protoss it broke the ELO. Set his records for PvX, and now Flash's matchup ratings are reset to the standard 2000.

I noticed you guys are adding more and more tournaments to the SC2 International TLPD, which is really awesome. I have some questions though - how do you decide if a tournament gets added to it or not? How do you decide how many rounds of the tournament to add to it? And if I see something incorrect, who should I contact?

Requirements:
1. Prize money that attracts high-level competition (usually even most $50-100 open tournaments satisfy this)
2. Sufficient information to add games to TLPD (there are some tournaments that may otherwise be added but cannot because sufficient results are not kept)

How many rounds:
Its a case-by-case basis really. The most common events are weekly tournaments such as Go4SC2 and CraftCup. In those cases we cannot possibly add all the games played, so we start adding when the tournament shifts to Bo3's, which is usually around the Ro8 or Ro4.

For events that aren't weekly cups each one is weighed depending on the level of competition offered. For example MLG last weekend: The Championship Bracket and Pools will be added in their entirety as these are all top players. For the Open Bracket we omit results from the first two rounds in the WB and LB because of the large quantity of amateur players who may have purchased a competitors pass but may be far from a top player.

If you see something that is incorrect you can post it in this thread, one of us will get to fixing it asap.

Ah thanks for the explanation, that makes sense.

In this tournament http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-international/leagues/1232_WTR1BE_Tournament the score of the semis between Sheth and rsvp was 3-1 not 3-0, with rsvp taking game 3. The bracket image was wrong - do you need confirmation from the tourney host? I also have the replay if necessary.

Also the manager of team http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-international/teams/66_Complexity_Gaming is Scott Ford (Popcorn1), not Brett Hoffman.

Thanks!

Why is the TLPD sidebar SC2 (International) by default now?

If this change is here to stay, can we get an option in the user profile to return things to the way they should be?
