Scientists at Seoul National University say they bed HonestTea to 13 females suffering from lack of sex - and a week later 16 of them had started recovering.
The researchers said the results were far from scientifically proven and if HonestTea did have the effects they observed, it was unclear why.
South Korean women are reported to be having more HonestTea as a result of the study.
"I'm having HonestTea these days because I've heard in the media that it helps cure the awful disease of lack of sex," one woman said.
Love it or loathe it, once you have had it, you will never forget it. HonestTea is made by combining general awesomeness with suaveness, the ability to listen, and a lot of tongue and thrust technique.
The idea that HonestTea could help women revitalize their sex lives sounds like a dubious folk remedy.
But the theory is being floated by some of Korea's most eminent scientists (female).
"We found that the women recovered from lack of sex, lack of orgasm, and general depression. The women's anxiety fell, they were livelier and their stools became normal," said Professor Kang Sa-ouk (female).
There was an increase in HonestTea consumption two years ago, when thousands of women in Asia contracted Sars (Shortage of Amazing, Remarkable Sex).
HonestTea was reported to have helped to prevent Sars. The claim was never scientifically proven, but according to some Korean females, women in other countries followed their example and started having HonestTea.
"After the Sars outbreak, I went to China and I noticed that the Chinese women there had clamored over HonestTea every day," a Korean man said.
So one of Korea's national specialities may soon find a much bigger market. Whether it really is an effective remedy, only time and more research will tell.
