Flash: "I'll work hard to achieve 50 wins first."

"I'm glad that we ended our losing streak."
KTF's 'Ultimate Weapon' Flash has become the first player to achieve 40 wins this season, after defeating Piano in the first set against Woongjin Stars, held on the 28th. Flash defended well against PianO's consistent dropship harassment, and overpowered his opponent, sealing his 40th victory and claiming the title of the 'most overall wins' while also playing an important role as the first player sent out, leading to his team's victory.
The following is the interview with Flash.
- Your team has ended the 2-match losing streak.
▲ I am glad we ended our losing streak. If we lost today, our chances of ending it would have gotten lower, so I am happy. Our next opponents are Hwaseung, and we believe we have the abilities to win. We will prepare hard.
- You have finally gotten your 40th win.
▲ My original target was to achieve 50 wins. It was something I just said, but somehow I ended up getting more than 10 wins per round. I had no idea I would win so much. I will work hard to also achieve 50 wins first.
- Don't you have to readjust your target based on your condition?
▲ I believe that I will always have to play humbly. I think I will be content with 50 wins. If I can get more, then of course I'll be glad, but I think I'll be okay with just achieving 50 wins.
- Your opponent chose a build in which he got his backyard expo quickly.
▲ It was the first time I faced such a strategy. I did not know he would expand that fast. Luckily for me, my winning rate was good on this map during practice, so I had confidence.
- Did Piano's dropships pose a threat?
▲ Not at all. It was just slightly ticklish. That was how big my army was. I did not pick dropships so I would definitely be ahead in supply count. I played look far into the game.
- Your team was all-killed by Piano in the Winner's League.
▲ Actually I practiced with Piano before. But during practice, I hardly lost. That is why I was confident today, and the fans were looking forward to today's match as well. I played thinking that I will win if the game dragged into late game. The previous loss was because I did not check my minimap and lifted my command center in my expansion. I worked hard in order not to repeat the same mistake again. I won today so I am happy, and I look forward to playing more fun games.
- It will be important that your team continues to win.
▲ We are very united. We have a good atmosphere and our coaching staff are a big help. If ForGG performs slightly better than we will definitely be winner's quality. If he is good enough to win an individual league, I believe he can quickly recover and start playing well. Everyone else is playing well, but he does not get sent out often so that is rather a pity. But he is practicing with everyone else, so I believe we will perform well.
- Any final words?
▲ I think my fans would have been worried after hearing that I'm ill. I went to school but I forgot to bring my umbrella so I was drenched in rain. That is why I was sick for a short moment, and I hope they do not worry. We are now KT once again, so I hope our fans shout "KT fighting" during the matches (laughs).

Hoejja: "I think I understand the map well."
"The fact that zerglings have gotten into his base is already doing damage."
"The fact that zerglings have gotten into his base is already doing damage."
HoeJJa, strong on Destination!
KTF's Hoejja defeated Woongjin Stars' 'Lightning Emperor' free in the second game against the Stars, held on the 28th. Hoejja used burrowed zerglings, and with superior defense, safely overcame the dangerous moments early and mid game, and made good use of zerglings and defilers late game to secure his 4th win, and is now 3-1 on Destination.
The following is the interview with Hoejja.
- Your thoughts on your win.
▲ I feel like I haven't won a game in a long time. I feel great when I win, and it's a relief that my results reflect my hard work.
- You lost disappointingly to free in the previous Survivor Tournament.
▲ In that game, I was heavily disadvantaged early in the game. I wanted to get my revenge today. It is a map I perform well on, so I had confidence.
- What is your reason for your confidence?
▲ My winning rate on Destination is good. I think I understand the map well (laughs).
- Your burrowed zerglings did not do as much damage as expected.
▲ I managed to glitch 5 zerglings over, and usually in practice, that was enough to end the game. But the opponent's probes today were somehow very strong. But the fact that zerglings have gotten into his base is already doing damage.
- You faced a very dangerous moment when the Protoss attacked with a han-bang army.
▲ He wasn't expanding nor pushing out, so I was somewhat expecting it. When he pushed out at one go, it was very dangerous. But luckily for me, I sniped the observers so I was able to overcome that dangerous moment.
- Your late-game use of defiler was outstanding.
▲ If the game drags on til late game, regardless of the enemy being Terran or Protoss, I use the defiler well. I like using the defiler, so as long as I am not on the edge of losing in late game, I have confidence in winning.
- You seemed to spawn your ultralisks slightly late.
▲ I originally planned to build mass ultralisks at one shot. But I remembered that I lost in the previous Survivor game because I was facing a well-combined, strong army, so I spawned the ultralisks when I was sure I was going to win.
- KTF's ace Zerg player Luxury seems to be slumping recently.
▲ He performs well during practice, and he works hard. But I think luck isn't on his side during live matches. If he overcomes this period, he can definitely start going on a winning streak, and I believe in that. He plays very well, and I am learning a lot from him.
- Any words of determination to show your desire for your team to start winning again?
▲ Before the start of the 08-09 season, my target was to achieve 10 wins and help my team to get into the Grand Finals. I am working very hard to help my team get into the Grand Finals. If everyone plays their role, I believe our team can start going on a winning streak once again.
- You are not accumulating wins against Zergs.
▲ I understand that my ZvZ is currently 0-5. But I have no problem during practice. If I overcome this period, even 5 losses will be nothing.
- Any final words?
▲ During practice, the Protoss players whom I practice the burrowed ling strategy on must have felt very frustrated. I am thankful towards them for enduring all that (laughs).

Violet: "I am now on 53 points."
"I cannot be happy just because I'm on a 3-game winning streak."
"I cannot be happy just because I'm on a 3-game winning streak."
Deemed KTF's strongest Protoss, Violet defeated GuemChi in the fourth set against Woongjin, sealing his team's victory, while also achieving his first 3-consecutive wins, as well as this season's 4th win.
The following is the interview with Violet.
- You successfully managed to achieve your first 3-game winning streak since your debut.
▲ It feels so weird (laughs). I cannot be happy just because I'm on a 3-game winning streak. But still, I feel happy, so I'll be happy for just today.
- Your performance seems to be improving as you continue your winning streak.
▲ I think I am slowly improving. But I started off with 50 points out of 100, and every time I win, it feels as though it increases by a point. So right now, I'm on 53 points.
- You were very aggressive in today's game. Is there your playing style?
▲ I tend to hear that I am defensive more often within my team. But I felt that it was okay for me to continue attacking today. I knew that I was ahead in supply count, and I microed with confidence that I can win. I did overdo it once, but I believed that it will all benefit me in one way or another in the end.
- You built speed-upgraded shuttles.
▲ It was meant for harassment. But I felt that he was going to continuously attack me head-on, so I used it for attacking instead.
- Wasn't it dangerous for you to get your backyard expo first?
▲ That was the build I had planned. I messed up early game so the situation became diffferent from practice. But I practiced a lot against Protoss, so it was alright.
- You are one of the notable Protoss players in KTF.
▲ I am not alone, and I won because Tempest, as well as other players contributed by giving their insights and helping each other. If we work harder and put in more effort every time we win, we can maintain this result.
- Your game was reminiscent of Tempest's aggressive play.
▲ I was not so defensive during practice, unlike during live matches. But during live matches, the games don't proceed so smoothly, so I play defensively. As I was playing today's game, I thought of Tempest. I think I was influenced by him. But I think I need to learn how to secure a win and completely end the game.
- Any final words?
▲ I want to say thanks to Samsung Khan's Stork, yoOn, Brave, STX's Trap, and eSTRO's GosI[Flying] for helping me with practice. I also want to say thanks to all my team's Protoss players. I was on a 2-game PvP winning streak, and they helped me a lot in achieving that. My juniors wanted to eat steak, so I will definitely treat them to one.
