She just won the 2009 World Figure Skating Championship, held in LA, by obliterating the field and shatterring the existing new world record.
Figure Skaters must skate two routines: a "Short Program" where the skaters must perform a set list of moves, and a "Free Skate" which is longer than the Short Program and offers the skaters more freedom.
Since the International Skating Union adopted a new scoring system in 2004, no female skater has ever broken 200 total points... until yesterday. Kim Yuna now holds the world record for short program, free skate, and total score. Basically, she is the dominant female figure skater today.
I admit I know little about figure skating, (sometimes I'm not even sure it's a sport) but I'm man enough to admit that whenever she performs, I'll be watching.
Don't be shy all you closet figure staking fiends... reveal yourself!
There's a lot of spinning in skating. I was spun around one and a half rotations yesterday, and I felt mildly dizzy afterwards. How do they get used to that shit. ;p

Yeah I agree, what the hell? There's no way I could even stand up after being spun round at that speed, yet she skates off into a triple salko or whatever the hell that was.
