GOMTV Invitational, who will the 16 players be?
e스포츠 사상 최강 선수들이 함께하는 최고의 초청전이 성사됐다.
곰TV는 21일, e스포츠 최강자전 'XNOTE-인텔®센트리노® 곰TV 스타 인비테이셔널'(이하 곰TV 초청전)을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
"XNOTE-INTEL CENTRINO GOMTV STAR INVITATIONAL" (lol long name)
이번 곰TV 초청전은 오는 28일 오후 5시 조추첨식을 시작으로 오는 2월 17일부터 3월 1일까지 열리며, 지난 2007년 한해 동안 가장 뛰어난 성적을 올린 선수들이 참가한다는 사실과 곰TV에서 자체 제작한다는 사실 외에 자세한 내용은 추후 발표한다고 밝혔다.
This event will occur from February 17th until March 1st. It will feature 2007's individual league champions, the best players in proleague, and some players that are ranked in the Top KeSPA. The following are players that are expected to be invited.

이상 정리되는 선수는 모두 12명으로 곰TV MSL 시즌1과 시즌2를 석권한 김택용을 제외하고, 단 한 명의 선수도 겹치는 선수가 없다. 하지만 리그 특성상 팀플전 다승왕의 경우는 포함되지 않을 것으로 보이기 때문에 위에서 출전할 수 있는 선수는 10명으로 좁혀진다. (후기리그 시즌 MVP와 신인상의 경우가 포함될 수 있음)
After this we have 12 players total. However, if due to the format of the league the 2v2 Proleaguers are not invited, then there will only be 10 players. However, the 2nd Half MVP and Rookie could be invited.
그렇다면 남는 조건은 KeSPA 랭킹. 2008년 1월 랭킹 순으로 위에 언급된 선수를 제외하고 순서대로 나열하면 STX 진영수, MBC게임 염보성, KTF 이영호, CJ 변형태, MBC게임 이재호, CJ 박영민 등 6명의 선수가 추가될 경우 정확히 16명의 선수가 구성된다.
Then the remaining players will be chosen based upon January KeSPA ranking. In rank order (excluding those already mentioned above) are:

KTF Flash

CJ Much
이밖에 경기 방식은 ‘조추첨식’을 실시한다고 밝힌 것으로 볼때 16강전은 각조 4명씩으로 구성, 조별 토너먼트 혹은 풀리그로 진행될 것으로 추측되며, 경기 맵은 프로리그 개인전 맵 가운데 2개, 스타리그, MSL 맵이 각 1개씩 사용될 것으로 예상된다.
The format will be either that the 16 players will be divided into 4 groups, race tournament, or proleague style. Map pool will be two 1v1 maps from Proleague, and 1 each from Starleague and MSL.
이번 곰TV 초청전은 내로라하는 선수들의 총 출동이 예상되는 만큼 지난 2007년 3월 제5회 대회로 마감된 슈퍼파이트의 인기를 능가하는 꿈의 매치업으로 수 많은 e스포츠 팬들의 관심과 사랑을 받을 것으로 기대된다.
This is garnering as much interest as the Superfights which ended in March of 2007.
