yeah so talked to slog and the esports guy and they cancelled the ny offline event because the pcs at the samsung experience were broken. they said this is why they didnt contact the players.. because they didnt have working pcs for them to play on -_-. they are doing an online event instead sometime mid august in place of the ny regionals.. fucking a.. im on my way to ny right now to cover that shit and they didnt tell players until today.

they said if worse cam eto worse if people did fly out they would have em play at a circuit city van outside of the samsung experience where they have working pcs -_-a.

i will still go to check it outand see if ican salvage some newz out of it

the organization for wcg has been... well what you'd expect. Every fucking year. I just got an email from the guy running the cali prelim asking me if I knew any of the other players coming and if they planned on coming... holy god.

So Skew/FroZ/G5 (I assume) tell him in an email (ID / link on PR's news post) that you are attending.

That's so bad. They didn't even bother to tell the players. WCG organization has always been sloppy from what I have experienced and seen.

Back in 2003, it was well run when I first did it. I went there, and a WCG organizer was THERE to obs the matches. It was at a CompUSA sure, but it was fun. It was an all day Starcraft fiesta. After I qualified the first time, I went to the place again, this time with players such as Nyoken and the likes. It was beyond belief, the WCG Organizers were outstanding.

In 2004, it was worse. They had every game (need for speed, counterstrike, starcraft, unreal tournament, etc...) at the same location, to share what? 20 PC's? They were maybe 50 people crammed into a small room with hardly any room to breathe. The organizers promised raffle prizes, i won a shuttle PC, never was it given.

In 2005, it was at the same location, however this time, it was ONLY starcraft, phew. That event went quite well, even though they had horribly tellings of the time of the event. I went based on other people's posts on TeamLiquid T_T After I qualified for regionals for the next month, it was better, no organizer was there though, it was run through the LAN, but the players made the event. The organizers sucked, but the players were cool to hang out with.

2006 online = sucks = abuse = shitty finals/organization

2007 has been a joke the whole time. only 2 hour online ladder a day? WTF? How is that to show skill? I was still in school, so staying up till 3:00 am to play in a ladder when I had my final exams = shit. The organizers seem like they have no idea wtf they're doing anyhow.

2008 bring back LAN qualifications, and bring back GOOD organizers. 2003 WCG was by far my best experience.

They cancelled the War3 qualifier a couple of days ago as well for New York, but apparently they did e-mail those players (Sonkie said he got one). I wonder why they didn't inform the SC players?

Honestly how hard is it to rent out an internet cafe and put in an organizer(s). Ongamenet does it for what, 200ppl or something and it works fine.

Wow, online FINALS. WCG give me a fucking break. Goodluck to anyone in the online "finals" since it takes away a whole aspect of it being a final having it online.

What i hate the most is the WCG website. It always takes me like 5 minutes to find the wcg usa site, then another 30 minutes to find the sc registration. So after 05 no more wcg for me. The online thing might be a good system but only 2 hrs to play? I remember missing out like the first week of the online thing and i tried playing the following week, but there was noone to play ever in those 2 hrs.. if i made that time period during my hectic day. Oh well wcg is cool when you get to play.

Better online, better Lan FTW plz!

Which would be New York. It's not North, because I'm leaving for that in about an hour, and I'm sure not going to New York. And I'm pretty sure it's not Pacific or South.
