Fall 2013 Update
Hello everyone!
We just want to give you all a brief update on the website progress and let you all know our plans for starting up the season. Over the summer we started with an ambitious project of re-doing our website in order to make the experience better and cleaner for everyone. We've made progress, but it isn't going as quickly as we'd like due to the complex nature of what we're building and of course the fact that our volunteer team have other life obligations which limits the amount of dedicated work they can put into the project. But we are getting there!
We don't want to release a half finished product like we did last year, so we're going to delay the start of registration by a couple weeks to give our dev. team more time to ensure the website is fully functional and ready to go when we launch registration. We understand this news may be frustrating to some people who are itching to get started and play matches and we apologize for the delay. Our goal however is to make sure that what we put out is something we can be proud of building, and you can be proud to use. We're confident that the wait will be worth it!
In the mean time, please join our CSL Coordinators Facebook to have easy access to us and fellow coordinators, and keep an eye out for our Back to School events throughout the rest of this month and next month.
Thanks for understanding, and we will continue to give updates of our progress as we prepare for the upcoming year.
Best wishes,
CSL Staff
School's starting again, which means another year of collegiate eSports in StarCraft II, League of Legends, and DotA2.
We know you're just as excited as we are to start the new season of CSL, so we've prepared a Guide of Everything You Need to Know about Fall 2013-Spring 2014 with general information, key changes to this season, a projected schedule, and our official rules. If you're interested in starting or joining a team, check out the guides below!
The main takeaway is that to play in CSL, you'll need a coordinator and five players ready to go by ~September 25. While registration isn't open yet, you can check the TL thread for college locations to find team members. Since our website is under development until registration opens in late September, do the following to stay connected:
- Join the Collegiate Starleague Coordinators Facebook Group
- Follow @Cstarleague and like CSL's Facebook Page for updates about the upcoming season
- Read the guides provided and discuss below if you have any questions or concerns!
- Join us for our Twitter Q&A on Friday, 5-7pm PST and ask any questions!
And now that the administrivia is taken care of, we're happy to announce:
