On July 25-28, 2013, we will see the world’s best gamers gather in Shanghai, China to open the Intel Extreme Masters Season 8 at China’s most important game show ChinaJoy.
Here is your chance to qualify from South East Asia & Australia-New Zealand!
THE best player from the region will qualify for Shanghai. You must advance through 2 stages to do so. See how below.
Restrictions
- You must be located in South East Asia or Australia - New Zealand at the time of either Stage 1 or Stage 2 to be eligible to compete in the qualifiers.
- You must be at least 16 years of age by July 24th 2013 ( the date of the LAN event)
- Hotel and flight cost are paid for in full by ESL.
- Be well aware that China requires an up to date visa to enter the country.

Best of 1 in all rounds until the Round of 16 players is reached in Winner Bracket and Ro16 B in Loser Bracket. At round of 16 and higher is a Best of 3. Once the Grand Final is reached the matches end, and the 2 players then move to Stage 2.
In a Best of 1, Best of 3 and Best of 5 a map veto (removal and pick) system is used. The high seeded player(seeds can be found at round 1 on the grid page) decides who starts. Players take it in turn removing maps until only one remains in a best of 1 or until only 3 maps remain in a best of 3 or until 5 maps remain in a Best of 5. Then each player picks a map. Maps are played in order they are picked. The remaining map is played last.
