On July 25-28, 2013, we will see the world’s best gamers gather in Shanghai, China to open the Intel Extreme Masters Season 8 at China’s most important game show ChinaJoy.
Here is your chance to qualify from Europe and Africa! Two of the best players from the region will qualify for Shanghai. You must advance through 2 stages to do so. See how below.
Restrictions
- You must be located in Europe or Africa at the time of either Stage 1 or Stage 2 to be eligible to compete in the qualifiers.
- You must be at least 16 years of age by July 24th 2013 ( the date of the LAN event)
- Hotel and flight cost are paid for in full by ESL.
- Be well aware that China requires an up to date visa to enter the country.

STAGE 1 Top 4 players will advance to Stage #2! Once the semi-finals round is reached the matches end, and the 4 players then move to stage #2.
A map veto (removal and pick) system is used. The high seeded player (seeds can be found at round 1 on the grid page) decides who starts. Players take it in turn removing maps until only one remains in a best of 1 or until only 3 maps remain in a best of 3. Then each player picks a map. Maps are played in order they are picked. The remaining map is played last.

I think TL calendar has a rule that there must be a stream dedicated to the event in order for it to be added. ESL didn't have a stream for today's games. Tomorrow there should be the mentioned http://www.gamesocial.tv stream. Still, Day 2 is not in the calendar either.

We will have it properly on the Calendar tomorrow with an official stream.
Unfortunately our studios are full this weekend with other games, so we will use Gamesocial.tv who have also been producing the WCS Challenger league!
