Just noticed this; are sc2 games traditionally shorter then bw games? Just curious since proleague is bo7 for sc2 and was bo5 for bw.

I don't know the average BW game length, but many SC2 games last between 10 and 20 minutes, usually ending around the 15 minute mark or so.
This kind of sets the baseline for a BO3 to be done in an hour in tournament schedules.

PL was originally bo7 with 2v2 matches, then became bo5, then became bo7 again, then became bo5 without aces, then became weird hybrid format, and now it's back to bo7.
