How do you feel about securing your first win for the season?
This was my first victory in a while so I feel happy. The last time I can remember winning in Proleague was just such a long time ago. I had a bad feeling that I wasn't going to be able to grab my very first victory for this season for a while but I luckily, I won.
You were sent out after three matches previously took place.
These days, my skills are not very good. I don't even do well within the team. I told myself that I needed to slowly get better on my own since I wasn't being sent out for the matches. I think that the coaching staff looked towards the future by deciding that it would be better for me to learn more about the game before sending me out so they probably intentionally did not play me. My performance was not good but I still won (laughs).
Your opponent was RorO. Did you feel any pressure?
I didn't feel any pressure from the fact that my opponent was him. I just told myself that I should execute well what I had prepared. The only problem was, I didn't fully complete my preparation so I was anxious. I think that showed a lot during the game.
How did you feel when you lost that first big engagement?
There was a chance that the game could have just ended right there. I think my opponent dropped his guard. I just wanted to prepare my final attack so I sacrificed my immortals s I retreated. But when it came time for my second attack, I wasn't feeling confident. But as it turned out, my opponent really didn't have much of an army. So then I was like "Huh? Am I going to win?" (laughs).
You had a really happy expression on your face after you won. Who were you thinking about when you came out of the booth?
I wasn't really thinking about anything. I was just happy (laughs). A lot of people had cheered on for me throughout all this time. I remembered those people. I wasn't able to convey this kind of happiness during SC1 but for SC2, even occasional victories mean that much to me.
Do you believe that you'll be riding a momentum with today's victory?
I'm not quite sure. I am not really certain about my skill yet. I am sorry to the people around me but I need a bit more time. After all, my performance was odd today, right? (laughs). I can only think about the fact that I need to get better. I need to work really hard so that I can improve.
SKT T1 is now rank one. Your next opponent is KT Rolster.
I'm not sure if I'll be sent out for that one (laughs). If I can prepare well and get sent out then I want to keep my winning streak. I believe that out of every team in Proleague, we are the strongest. Rain and soO are insanely good and the rest are also top players. We have a lot of confidence built up from all that practicing we did before the season began. After the season started, I was once again reminded just how powerful we are as a team through all our victories. This season's championship will be won by SK Telecom T1.
This season's goals?
The goal is to secure 15 victories. For now, I need to set a low goal for myself and then eventually go higher.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank the coaching staff for believing in me. The build that I had prepared was the immortal all in so my teammates helped me a lot. I want to thank them for that. Also, I was able to comfortably prepare that build from beginning to end because of Brown. I am still lacking in skill but I am working hard because of the endless support from the fans. I hope they keep tuning in to my performances from here on out.
