No this isn't another "main shows worker count thread".
I'm talking about this number:
![[image loading]](http://www.abload.de/img/worker3royk.png)
I've seen it with all the races and go between 2 and 77.
Does anyone have a clue what it means? It's really hard to google for "hots worker number" atm
The number is not visible at the start of the game but shows up when the first non worker unit spawns. Maybe it's just the "fighting unit count" or something?
Edit:
It's not "idle workers". I've seen it at +70 in a game where pretty much all the workers have been mining

That's idle workers I'm pretty sure.
|
Idle workers i would imagine.
|
It's army count, except units not supply.
|
its the idle workers count, just like WoL...
|
It's army count/select all army units, the icon is a placeholder.
Worker count is on the left and I checked this, im in the beta.
|
Not idle workers. That's on the left side. That is number of combat units on the field. There is a new option named select all units (not including workers) and that's directly related to this.
|
It's "select all units", not including workers.

then why is the icon a worker..?
|
how many selected units you have . so you dont have to count the lines and the aditional units in the last line . is pretty cool i think .

Placeholder in a beta perhaps?

Why do they need a select all units button in the first place? Seems a bit silly to me, it just seems to support the idea of the death ball even more.
The only effect I can see this having on me is that I click it accidentally every once in a while, and send all my queens away from bases and all my defensive / scouting units to the wrong places =/

I assume it is for the same reason why idle workers is around. Sometimes people forget where they have spare units lying around. So Idle Units.

it selects army, the entire army. the drones are just there because thats the icon they already have. I'm sure we'll probably end up seeing a marine/zealot/zergling for the new icons in the coming weeks.
it doesn't select workers or overlords, but it does select queens, oracles, observers, medivacs and other non attacking units.
tested this myself

I think it's army not just idle army, I don't know the default key for it, but it looks like it works the same as warpgates. Seems like it'll let bad players not have to hotkey units?

Can people please stop responding to questions when they have no idea what they are talking about? Namely shifty, Tekkerz and SpeCtor.
The graphic happens to be the same as for workers, but has a totally different function as Torte de Lini said.
For people in the beta: what's the default key for it? And do you think it should not select queens and mothership core?
