Seems GOM has/will make the VODs for these matches free!
http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=223575

Dear GOMTV.net users,

The 2012 GSL Season 3 and GSTL Season 2 Grand Finals have concluded this past weekend. We would like to thank everyone for their support and hope that you have enjoyed the show!

We will be back with more exciting StarCraft II action soon, as the WCS Korean National Finals will be airing for 3 weeks, starting on August 6th. New seasons of the GSL and GSTL will also be back shortly after the WCS event.

But wait, does that mean we will have to suffer through one week without our daily dose of GSL action? Don't worry! As a thank you for all of your loyal support, we will be releasing the VODs of the first four seasons of 2011 for free, for your viewing pleasure.

(Free from 07/31) 2011 Sony Ericsson Global StarCraft II League Jan.
(Free from 08/01) 2011 Global StarCraft II Team League Feb.
(Free from 08/02) 2011 2nd Generation Intel Core GSL Mar.
(Free from 08/03) 2011 Global StarCraft II Team League Mar.

We will release one season per day at 11:00 KST, starting with the 2011 GSL January on Tuesday, July 31st.
For a spoiler-free experience, make sure that you have the 'hide match-up' option enabled on our schedule page before you click any of the links above.

Be sure to relive the epic clashes of these raw and early days of StarCraft II:
- The first ever Code S and Code A, introduced during the 2011 GSL January.
- The absolutely epic first two GSTLs, February and March, whose finals are among the most viewed VODs on GOMTV.net to this day.
- GSL March, which for the first time had no Terran players in the finals and stands as a milestone in GSL history.

These leagues have set the stage for the players and teams that now have become legends. Enjoy the free VODs!

Thank you.
GOMTV.net

Am glad we have a GSTL3 this year

Already have all the tickets for those seasons, but still a very nice gesture anyways! The GSTL matches especially are amazing.

It seems.

A few players confirmed this (I think in the TSL Winner Interviews) by saying they had quite some time before the next GSL season starts, and how they'd use it.

Yes! Looking forward to:
- The rise of MVP
- That San vs sC game
- MC's crushing
- MMA when he was not MMA and still got a 3 kill vs ZENEX in GSTL when SlayerS was a nobody
- The return of SlayerS the very next season
- Bomber vs MVP + Squirtle vs MVP in GSTL

Oh my god. So many good memories. This is where I first started to really care about sc2.
Mvp - Leenock - Dongraegu - MC - Gumiho - Keen - Polt - Squirtle - Jjakji - Genius - Seed - Life - sC - Dream || LG-IM - MVP - FXO

I still rewatch games from the first two GSTL's just to relive the experience.

I'll get a list together.

GSTL Feb:
oGs vs IM games 2,3, and 4. Rise of seed. Can watch five also if you want to see Mvp smash MC in their first encounter.
ST vs IM, whole thing is great, games 6 and on are just mandatory watching though. Can't stress enough. Game 8, Squirtle vs Mvp, jesus christ.

GSTL March:
fOu vs TSL game 6, first glimpse of Puma
SlayerS vs oGs, Game 2 with most banelings ever in GSL/GSTL (think this is still the record at least). Game 7 is cool to watch, birth of the SC2 Legend Killer, and a pretty crazy strategy.
SlayerS vs ST, game 5 is fucking amazing, MMA vs Bomber. Game 6 pretty good too.
Slayers vs IM, Game 7 is still one of my favorite games ever (Ryung vs Mvp, day after battlecruiser speed buff), as is the ace match.

GSL Jan:
Code A, not much stands out. The round of 32 has Bitbybit vs Moon, if you want to see the greatest baneling landmine of your life. Funny games. Otherwise, finals Top vs Byun was a solid series.

Code S, Asha got the matches I was going to suggest below me, but I especially recommend Boxer vs Hyperdub (Ro32), Jinro vs MC(Ro16), that Nestea vs Choya game, whichever one it was with the defense (Ro8), and DEFINITELY Nada vs MKP (Ro8). Jinro vs Idra wasn't a great series, but game 4 is hilarious and worth watching. Finals were bad, Mvp begins his reign.

GSL March:
Code A, again, finals were good. Don't remember there being any epic games though.

Code S: Again, Asha got them. The ones I'll stress though are San vs Nestea (Ro32), San ascends into ManZenith with some of the most brilliant multitasking I have ever seen from a protoss, San vs sC (Ro8) same reason. July vs Nada was cool, but I feel like every match with the same with either the bunker rush working or not working. Finals were terrible, the game July won was cool though.

The first GSTL finals is a must watch for anyone who hasn't before.

It's been a while but I thought these Code S games were all good for the time...

From GSL Jan.

R32:

Boxer vs Hyperdub: The Emperor dominates and shows one of the first instances of late game macro CC's

Jinro vs Ensnare: This was the longest match in the GSL for a while, very tense TvT

R16:

MVP vs Hyperdub: MVP shows everyone how terran can take

Jinro vs MC: Both games. Legendary moment.

Idra vs Clide: (I might actually be thinking of his game vs Ensnare in r32) one of his finer GSL performances though

R8:

NesTea vs Choya: (maybe only game one) Nestea pulls off an almost impossible defence.

Marineking vs Nada: "Don't basetrade with marineking" is born.

R4:

Both good series, MVP handling NesTea and MKP really showcasing his bio TvT.

Finals:

Watch if you want to see how good preparation and better mechanics can completely dominate a stylistic player.

====

GSL Mar

R32:

MC vs July: crushing performance, iirc there's some of the first truly good forcefield doughnuts.

San vs everybody: Amazing performance seemingly out of nowhere.

R16:

Nothing is particularly coming to mind

R8:

San vs sC: Relentless aggression and storms storms storms. Maybe the series that really did for Khaydarin amulet.

July vs Nada: 2 legends going at it.

If you have time MC vs HongUn, just to look at how attempting to do something different in PvP would get you laughed at.

R4:

N/A

Finals:

Worth a watch, if only to see MC at his aggressive best. Also July gets a win with some nice hydra drop play that was popular back then.

San vs. sC is still my choice for best series of all-time in SC2 history.

It was fucking amazing.

Oh man, I completely agree. Just constant, back-and-forth aggression the entire game, with KA abuse barely keeping San alive just long enough to wear out sC, not to mention San being a groundhog Protoss and putting up isolated expansions everywhere on Terminus whenever one gets blown up.

And July vs NaDa was very intense to watch live. Whereas other Zergs of the time were fine with playing a safer, macro-oriented style, JulyZerg just did Baneling bust after Baneling bust, opting to play with some of the most aggressive Zerg play that I've seen in SC2. Meanwhile, NaDa played as safe and solid as possible against this relentless aggression of July, which was quite a clash of styles.

And MVP vs Squirtle was marvelous. I think GSTL season 1 was the first season to incorporate community-made macro maps, which made that season especially exciting to watch considering this was the transition away from the bad Blizzard maps of old and into a more modern map pool. That game was the only game where I saw a bio into mech transition in TvP, not to mention a Mothership coming into play and constant drops and harassment everywhere from both players. The mech transition still gives me goosebumps to this day, as MVP's Siege Tank army looked scary.

I remember staying up to watch many of these games live, following the journeys of Jinro and Idra and others. I love GOM for finally making these seasons free.
