Please use search before starting a new thread
TeamLiquid is the international hub for Starcraft 2. We have threads on just about everything. So if you think you are bringing us the latest breaking news, do a search before posting because most of the time you're not first. If you have a question or are interested in a particular topic, use search before opening a new thread to avoid overlap.
Always read the thread before posting in it
Too often we get people jumping into a thread without reading it and posting completely irrelevant information. If you take the time to read the thread then you won't make yourself look like an ass.
No imbalance whining
We don't want to read that Marauders are completely over powered, or that "lolrays" are ridiculous, or that Zerg units are crap. This means that you should not create threads discussing whether a unit is imbalanced or not.
No advertising
We only allow limited advertising posts from long serving community members. If you are unsure please read this or contact our advertising team to discuss possible advertising options.
No balance suggestions or game change suggestions
Since none of us work for Blizzard, the suggestions you want to make are falling on deaf ears. We don't control the game, Blizzard does, so please post any suggestions on the official battle.net forums.
Do not make mindless spam threads
These are threads which offer no discussion. They encourage people to post their own lists of things without reading the thread. These are best illustrated by some examples: example 1, example 2, example 3.
Do not treat TeamLiquid like Google
Simple questions are not worth making a thread for. Please use IRC to ask such questions or stop being lazy and search around on TeamLiquid for the answer - most of the time we'll have it.

Cute, but no, this information isn't contained in that thread ;D This is more specific to the SC2 section... and it tells you this before you post. Yet people can't read it. Maybe if I shotgun this information, it will help people actually read it.

No its covered under the common sense clause in the TL 10 commandments, Unless referencing a specific event this thread should be closed for lack of content or purpose. If you have a suggestion ask a mod and stop trying to backseat moderate.

It's supposed to be repetitive, that's the point. People don't read it when it's posted right in their faces everytime you make a post in the SC2 section. So maybe this will help get the rules across.
