1.) We randomly assign someone as Captain. Better chances of a Townie getting picked this way. 2.) All serious candidates get put on a list. If you are notoriously bad as a player and are known for fucking up the Town DO NOT EVEN APPLY. Lazy scumhunters and spammers especially. Screw the confirming people by PM stuff @ sandroba. We don't know your alignment and what you're doing comes off as role fishing. Whatever happened in past games is not relevant for this one. That goes for all you. Let's hurry up and get this captain vote done today. Don't spam up the thread either because I'll be damned if you idiots crash us into Planet Mafia on Day 1. | ||

Also whether or not you have faith in town's ability to find scum you shouldn't discourage players from trying to provide content b telling them that their efforts will be for nothing since their efforts allow you to make reads. I don't know about recent games but Mayors tended to live no matter how scummy they were in the past due to the Town being stupid. Scum always ran for Mayor because of the ridiculous invincibility to NKs and immunity to DT checks. Right now we have no idea what the Captain gets so we really don't know if the Scum has any incentive to run. Then again the incentive to deny the Town any positive use of a role is usually a strong enough reason on it's own. Giving anyone extra information BEFORE you know their alignment is just bad play. Yes it's absolutely awesome to give a Town Mayor information but that isn't the case right now. I'm not sure what you meant by the bolded but your logic is off: If the Scum know you're going to just kill the Mayor at a later date, then you aren't forcing them to do anything. | ||

GMARSHAL - you know that was a real stupid decision to lynch froggy. Seriously, show me how you arrived at the conclusion he was Scummy. I was going to point it out earlier but I was just thinking that maybe you were putting too much faith into an early Day 1 read which you should know better about. Come on, you KNOW the drill: lynch the useless players first. NOT actives. So lets get to some explanation: froggynoddy This guy has the strongest case against him tight now, he has a couple tell tale signs that point him out as newbie scum Two things in this post 1.) Apologizing for something that needs no apology. This is a sign of a guilty conscience much like what gave up Misder in Ver's XXX analysis. I did this all the time as the mole in PYP:Interesting, and Radfeild caught me out on it, so I'm always attentively looking for this kind of unnecessary apology. 2.) His issue with me trusting sandroba. This is typical of scum trying to subvert trust. "Why would you trust him OMG!" is the typical scum response to fast, uncontrollable circles of trust forming, and is basically how they express frustration while trying to discredit them in the thread. The bolded is where I had a problem with your post. How can he be trying to subvert trust when it's typical smart Townie behavior to ask: "Hey, how is everyone trusting each other so quickly when the game hasn't been going for 24 hours yet?". You were reading something that wasn't there. But I had something in my notes written hours ago because of this: Again, we see him actively discrediting town reads, which are actually vitally important in PM games as well as an excellent tool for weeding out scum. From my notes: GMarshal also has a plan that is too good for the public to know about. I'm guessing between him and sandroba they've got some insanely good abilities to just squad up so quickly in the game. He also was wrong in assuming that froggy was discrediting Town reads. In fact...that doesn't even make any sense. Very fishy. Discredit a Town read? In fact lets just step back for a moment and think. It's Day 1. Assume froggy is Scum. He sees you supporting sandroba. He knows both of you are Town and that it's very early in the game so he would get nervous and try to "discredit your Town read on him" - FOR WHAT? It's the first Day. People are throwing all kinds of dumb reads out there. Why would he as Scum even care so much that you have a Town read on another player? It does nothing to his faction. Come on, you are supposed to be smarter than this. I don't believe you are that terrible of a player to draw such an insane conclusion so quickly out of literal shit. All 3 of your candidates you wanted to lynch seemed like active posters to me. That list was made hours ago and enough has happened in the thread since then. You couldn't at least update your reads? froggy was posting before the lynch and nothing he posted could have changed your read from that simple early game sample?
