The HWZone Hanukkah LAN is the first Starcraft2 LAN in Israel to offer cash prizes! It will take place on Sunday, December 25th in the municipal convention center of the city of Modiin, Israel (map). Over 15,000₪ in prizes are distributed in the CounterStrike 1.6, Call of Duty - Modern Warfare3 and Starcraft2 tournaments
The LAN is organized by the largest technology website in Israel, HWZone, in order to mark the opening of an eSports division within their website. Over 2,400₪ in prizes and 40 players participating make this the largest Starcraft2 tournament in Israel to date.
The tournament will be cast live on stage and streamed by the two most popular casters in Israel, TheCheapCheese and HecticSC.
Format
Group stage: 40 players divided to 8 groups of 5 players and play a Bo1 Round Robin. Top 2 advance.
Playoff: 16 players, Single Elimination. Bo3 until Semi Final. Bo5 in Bronze Match and Final
Prize Pool
2,400 Israeli Shekels (~$630) are awarded to the winning players:
1st - 800₪ (~$210) + MSI Wind U135 Netbook!
2nd - 600₪ (~$160) + CM Real Power M1000 Power Supply!
3rd - 400₪ (~$105)
4th - 200₪ (~$50)
5-8th 100₪ (~$25)
