Other than tofucakes complaint- which is perfectly valid, I thought about this a fair bit when the thread was opened and cannot say "this should go but this should stay". What if a repost is really funny subjective humor et cetera et cetera. You're asking everyone to share the same criteria for humor and at the same time asking them to read all... jesus 618 pages worth to make sure it isn't a repost. Granted people that repost the same image that was on the page before it deserve to go straight to hell. Just don't argue or write more than a paragraph and (^_^)b we're good. Use pm's for that. | ||

You're trying to say that "Repost" pictures aren't funny, but the same can be said for very many pictures in that thread (Looking at you, reposts, stupid memes, and the whole plethora of meme faces). Maybe we should just add a repost rule, that if a picture is in, say, the last 10-50 pages, or maybe a time-frame like a month or so, that you'll get warned for the repost. Do it a second time, and get a second warning. Do it a third- time, and get temp-banned. This would apply to repost pictures and the like as well. This would force people posting to actually have to look through the thread, and make sure that they aren't reposting something, and will also force the people screaming "repost" or "shopped", to use different pictures each time, at least adding variety to it. This rule would probably be waived for series of pictures though or at least have the time-frame reduced, so you wouldn't get warned for one repost in a series of 10 pictures. This could be changed for multiple reposts in one post as well, regardless of other original pictures. There's to many people reposting things from only one or two pages ago, and there's also too many people spamming the same "repost" and "shopped" pictures over and over again. This isn't 4chan. | ||

There's a certain standard of posting here on TL which, albeit substantially lower, also applies in the funny pics thread. People should at least try to check the last few pages of the thread before submitting a picture. Repost pics serve as a reminder for this. Considering that most funny pics that are new circulated elsewhere before they've landed here on TL, chances are that if you've just found a cool new pic, someone else may have done so as well and possibly posted it here on TL already. | ||

Also, tofu is right. It's a lot worst when people post really boring pictures so they can ask like 'what's this from???' 'is that a show?' 'who's that actress?' Send a PM god damn. Don't post if you have nothing funny to post. | ||

I think the guy that admitted he went 100 pages back and grabbed a picture just so he could say something should be punished far beyond banning tho. That man should come to know shame like no other for being willing to admit that. | ||
