How are you helping the NASL?

Hey d00ds,

Hopefully we all know what the NASL is. It's our child, our big league comparable to the korean GSL. If you haven't seen it, there's a thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=212047 just to help improve it which I think is wonderful. Very soon now we will be able to compare our NASL with the leagues in europe and korea.
So now you may wondering, he knows about the NASL thread...so why is he creating a new thread? Well it's quite simple, I have a big idea and I don't want it to be lost or overlooked in the other thread. Which unfortunately is littered with just a bunch of tips and complaints which do not help the NASL in my opinion.

Anyways, on to the idea.

I think that the NASL currently is great. Gretorp is a very analytical caster and Incontrol compliments him very well with his witicisms. I enjoy that they bring in new casters which aren't as well known like Diggity.The quality is great even on the "low quality" stream and I personally have not had any lag issues. Their tournament style is also really exciting and a lot of high-caliber players are included, which is great.

The whole reason for this thread and however is what I think can be changed that can make the NASL that much better. The one problem which I have found that I think needs to be focused on is the casters appearances, particularly iNcontroL. I haven't seen anyone else talk about it because maybe they think its not too bothersome or that big of a deal. I disagree with these thoughts though, Gretorp and iNcontroL are what you see inbetween games. Obviously with a league like this, the goal is to get as many viewers as possible and we need to be able to give the best first impression as possible to these potential viewers. If we all work together than we can help make him give an even better first impression. So, in case you haven't figured it out yet, I am talking about the wart on his left cheek.

Many people probably think its just something you have to live with, but I think it could potentially scare off newer viewers from watching. So, my idea is to start a fundraiser to raise money so that Incontrol can get his wart removed. The operation for this will cost at least twenty dollars so just in case I will put the target goal to twenty. I will be donating 10$ to this cause and hopefully the rest of you guys can add a little bit as well. Hopefully Geoff can contact me his paypal information so this can go as smoothly as possible.

So...If you for some reason need even more convincing I should add in some extra tidbits about our man iNcontroL. He has been with the Starcraft community for a really long time and has put so much into it. He streams all the time and gives coaching to noobs like me. He deserves something back from us and the least we can do for him is this. Also he has a beautiful girlfriend named Anna Prosser who posts here on team liquid and is a Miss USA contestant!

I'm sure they have a great relationship, he has a very likeable personality as you can tell from his NASL casts. But I believe if he gets this operation that it will bolster their relationship (maybe to the next level?) and help him a lot. A wart like that on your face can cause serious confidence issues, so their is really no downside to this...except the money, which is the reason for the fundraiser :D

So this is how I plan on doing a small favour for our league. Everybody should try to help in any way they can and this is an extremely easy way to do so! Hopefully we can all get behind this and help make the NASL get even bigger than it is!
