Last season July raped Oov in semis otherwise we would have reach vs oov finals, reach is known for his godly PvT, and TvP has now become oov's best matchups (thanks July again) with an unbelievable 74% winning percentage. Map looks good too, no big balance issues. It's still early but I can't wait to see these matches:

1. Mercury
2. Pelennor
3. Bifrost
4. Requiem
5. Mercury

Reach won't lose. He's the NaDa of protoss! Amazing macro and perfect unit control/coordination.
De omnibus dubitandum.

Reach has amazing macro, but Oov is a monster at it. In a all out macro fight, no way will reach beat Oov.

The last time reach beat oov on tv (as far as i know) is when he play aggressively right from the start, harassed oov with reaver and wiped out his men as they tried to secure a foot hold outside his base.

Reach has to play like July and take control early, or like Nal_ra and pull a series of weird strats out of his pocket and hopefully catch oov off guard :p

Oov is imbalanced, poor Reach.

I won't get to see the games live since I have to work. I feel like turning in sick;)

True. Reach is the best protoss player alive, but even he will never beat oov in a macro match.

Reach vs Yellow final will be one sided and boring, both Requiem and Mercury heavily favor Z, Reach will be ass raped like last season when he had to resort to weird build up

Pelennor is the one that's really favorable to T I think. Reach said in an interview that he was losing all his practice games there (prior to his loss to Xellos on that map in the quarters), and I think Yellow said something about needing to win there if he hopes to beat Boxer in the series.

Maybe if the T goes fact-CC, but an early push (bamboo, for example) evens it out. It's GG if the P gets contained, because the Terran can siege both the choke into the P's main and the bridge coming out of the natural from the same position. Also, the travel distance is shorter than that of normal land maps at certain positions, making the early push an even greater threat.

Mercury,
Early game, P>T with Ranged-Goons.
Mid game, T>P vulture harass + Tank drops
Late game, it shouldn't come this far, but whoever has more resources wins (duh!)
Since the games are more likely to go beyond 10 minutes, I'd say T>P

Plennor,
Haven't seen a bundle of replays on this, can't comment.

Bifrost,
P can pull off a lot of cheesy opens on this map (e.g., Cannon Zeal rush, Cannon behind main, Dual Gate behind main, etc.)
Early game, evenly matched
Mid game, still evenly matched
So, balanced map.

Requiem,
Early game, P>>>T with Goons and Zeals
Mid game, Even
Late game, P>T (this is a half-island).
Hence, P>T on this map.
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

I think Reach has a decent chance against Oov; at least better than Yellow does against Boxer. Pelennor is all but a sure-win for Oov, but the other maps can go either way for either player.

actually i read requiem but was thinking namja iyagi for some reason, so nm that

reach seems great on bifrost and mercury, so i think it will be a rather even match except maybe for pelennor
