We have ~32 teams participating, so we'll be doing a Ro32 double elimination (with the built-in Bo5s). As such, we'll be going through something like six or seven rounds - so expect to be playing for a good 4 hours or so!

STARJEWELED
You love it, you play it, you live and breathe jewel breaking, unit producing, roach storming goodness.
You’ve all been waiting for it, and now the chance has come to prove your school’s dominance in the StarJeweled scene with CSL Custom Crafts Cup Gaiden: StarJeweled Showdown - Tournament Edition X. For those of you who haven’t had the joy of experiencing this amazing custom game, here’s the details:
StarJeweled is basically 2v2 Bejeweled + Nexus Wars. Each player starts with a standard Bejeweled “board” in which you have to match 3 elements for them to break, for which you earn “energy”. Each time you break 3 pairs of elements, a marine spawns from your base and is automatically sent to attack the enemy’s base. Your opponent will also be sending marines toward your base, and the goal of the game is to overwhelm your opponent, break his front line, and destory his main base.
You can spend your earned “energy” on more buff units, such as zealots, roaches, mutalisks, tanks, colossi etc. You can also spend your energy on spells such as warp cell, healing wave, and psionic storm. The more powerful the unit/spell the more energy it costs.
That’s basically the gist of the game. The better you are at Bejeweled, the more energy you get, and the more quickly the can overwhelm your opponent! Each game is a Bo5, so the first one to win 3 games on the scoreboard will win the entire match.
tl;dr: Play bejeweled, earn energy, make units, kill opponent.
Rules for the tournament.
-Teams may only be pairs, and once you pair up you are with your partner for the rest of the tournament.
-Multiple pairs can be sent from each school,.
-Competitors can partner up with other college students outside their own school, but again be aware this is your partner for the entire tournament.
-Signups will end on Tuesday February 22nd 2011*
-Tentative Tournament date to begin: Thursday February 24 2011*
-Brackets will be drawn up once all the entries are in.
-quick note: entrants must be college students, but not necessarily players in the CSL.
-P.S. 2010 graduates can play.
