By the same logic that the epic NSWF picture thread was relegated to thread-hell (and the fact that I don't block ads at work), shouldn't a banner asking if I see a lamp or a panty-shot be.....not there? Even if it IS clearly a lamp?

It's a picture of a lamp and the word woman... I don't think it's grievous enough to justify any type of action but... I don't make these decision so w/e :p

I know it's a lamp, but other people at my office aren't quite so smart. Also, if you just glance at it and see "Lamp or Woman"...

Plus, it's designed to make people see a panty-shot. It's how it gets attention.

I've actually seen the ad several times now and it's starting to bug me as well. I agree with the OP that it seems contrary to what TL is trying to maintain. It's more of a juvenile facebook ad rather than a progamer forum where (hopefully) everyone is more mature than that.

yeah guys, relax. IMO, it might be juvenile and all but its nothing that is severely NSFW, especially since its not THAT huge. Also its not a real image. I dunno, just my 2 cents that it isnt THAT big of a deal i think.

It's not an implication of a womans crotch, it is a womans crotch. Seen this in 4chan (shame on me) too many times. Frankly, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this, but for the sake of website feedback, perhaps its necessary. A moderator or whoever is free to delete it after seeing the proof.

Even if its supposed to be some kind of optical illusion, it's kind of inappropriate for a forum of this quality, I believe.

edit2: Just google "lamp or woman is a lie" and you'll see a picture of it being a thong, but there's another very similar picture that shows it without the lamp. Decide for yourself, but my point remains that I think its an inappropriate and non-fitting advertisement for this forum.

Do you use firefox at work? I just DLed adblock after something in sponsored threads reminded me of it. You can easily block all the ads, and I doubt you would get in trouble at work for using an adblocker.

I use Opera. Even when I use Firefox I disable adblock on TL.

Personal attacks are not nice. I'm concerned more with my boss seeing it than it damaging young minds. But still, there should be consistency with the allowable content.

Just to chime in, I also like to browse TL at work and I feel uncomfortable with this picture popping up all the time. Although I haven't seen it for a few days--perhaps some action has already been taken?

Didn't know iccup admin was an insult lol. I guess it can't be any worse than TL admin though, right?

As a volunteer force we had a number of douches join just to cause trouble. Mostly it's just people being mad because one of us didn't agree with them. But yeah, insulting an ICCup admin is a permanent ban, which is a bit harsh. Lots of people don't like us but refuse to use any other service. And when we have to make tough decisions (or even easy decisions) we end up getting flamed, then people get banned more/harder and they get pissed, and it keeps going.

You caught me man... I think I played maybe a total of 8 games on ICCUP. Got newbbaashed everytime, always had connection/lag issues (prolly my end), so that didn't last long. I'm sure I've easily watched 20-30 times more pro-BW than I have played BW (not counting single player).
