Let's answer some questions.
1. Do you need to finish all campaign missions?
No, you only need to do the mission tree that will allow you to beat All In within 8 hours. Shortest route takes 19 missions. + Show Spoiler + The Any Missions means any mission available at that point will work. The main mission line that needs to be completed is the Artifact Line which have a required mission completed to get to it. 1.Liberation Day 2.Outlaws 3.Zero Hour 4.Smash and Grab 5.Any Mission 6.Any Mission 7.Any Mission 8.Any Mission 9.The Dig 10.Any Mission 11.Any Mission 12.The Moebius Factor 13.Any Mission 14.Any Mission 15.Supernova 16.Maw of the Void 17.Gates of Hell 18.Belly of the Beast/Shatter the Sky 19.All In
2. 8 hours...?
8 Hours total played in mission time.
3. Battle.net disconnected?
Redo the campaign or reload the file before Battle.net disconnected.
4. I'm too lazy to do the campaign for this achievement...
Here: + Show Spoiler +http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P01B3VQ5
5. Can you do this achievement by doing mission archives? [seolinker]
No, it must be a campaign run through.
6. Can higher difficulties be used for any of these missions? [Ruthless]
Yes, you just need to complete it on normal or above.
7. If you do unnecessary missions, do those count towards your total played time? [Blasius]
Yes, your total played in mission time UNTIL you beat campaign will count.
8. Do you have to do the Zeratul missions? [KillerPlague]
No, those are optional.
9. Does it only count the time from your 1st play through? [Blasius] If you redo a mission does it help your time or hurt it? [KillerPlague]
Actually I do not know this question. I do know that if you've already beat the campaign, going through the archives and shortening the time on them does not work. This is unconfirmed but I'm pretty sure doing the mission archives cannot get you this achievements. It's a play through so I would assume that it's the first run of missions in the campaign. Again, this is unconfirmed.
Anything else?

Yes, should I start new campaign or simply can (re)play all this missions from missions archive (after I finished brutal campaign let's say) on normal difficulty ? Assuming I know right mission tree (assuming you tell me it lol)
Or was it answer 4 ?
|
Thanks, was thought it needs to be new campaign too, cause it make new mission in current campaign when you click continue in victory screen of last one. And it doesn't matter what you played in mission log.
You can see it just when you click big single player button

i don't really agree with the saved file posted... i mean, i did it in about 5 hours, in normal difficulty, it can be done even faster...
i mean posting save files... "why not" for some really difficult achievements... but this one, it's kinda worthless :s

Awesome : D

If you're going to try to make a 'one stop thread' - why not include the 'mission route' that is the best to take? If you are going to make a duplicate of a thread that already exists - at least make it complete

This comment seems a little silly - either you're against 'cheating' the achievements or your for it. I don't personally agree with the idea of linking it up here - since I consider it 'cheating' at it's basic levels - even if it doesn't effect me personally. I'm still holding out that Blizzard will perma-ban anyone who got achievements this way, since it's quite easy to detect and Microsoft has been banning 'Achievement cheaters' for years now with very little issues/time investment.

Does it only count the time from your 1st play through a mission?

do you have to do the zeratul missions?
does it have to be played all in one sitting?
if you redo a mission does it help your time or hurt it?

the mission route is mar sara, anything from the artifact storyline, any mission where artifact ones are unavailable, artifact missions, char
as for the link, i say if you cant be bothered you dont deserve it, id rather keep achievements for people who earn them, otherwise they mean less nothing than they do already .'. can you take it down?

no no it helps if you did it faster, otherwise no

Does it only count the time from your 1st play through a mission?
yes not if you redo it faster, doing the bare minimum you wont find time a problem anyway

i like the save file part :0

As far as the save file goes, it's not cheating. Blizzard will not ban people for exploiting something they put in. This has been their policy as far as I remember (unless I forgot something). They will either patch it so the saves no longer allow other people to earn achievements or leave as is. The save function is part of the game they made. Using it is not 'cheating'.

It is just single player cheating so no one cares, but it is still cheating. No different than using cheat codes imo. The run through is super easy and doesnt take long. It can be completed in under 5 hours. Just do it.

Thanks for the save file..did this achiev in like 3 minutes xD

nice FAQ, good to see most of the relevent info in the same place
Imo: spoiler the megaupload link, though.

I can also confirm the following: - again: Mission archives do not help improve your time. Only star map missions (i.e., first playthrough) will count. - You can save and load without any penalties. If you feel like you took too much time on your last mission then just load a savegame prior to that mission. That's also why you should always keep backups of your 'Victory' saves.

Well I don't really care either way. That file is my save anyways :p

Oh another one: Doing a mission archive mission will screw up your campaign for this achievement - even if you didn't improve your time at all. You will have to reload an earlier save then.
I did liberation day several times on casual while going for this achievement to exploit the credits bug. Turned out I didn't get the achievement. I then loaded a save prior to doing this and finished the campaign again: worked like a charm and I got it.

so just mission time counts? the time inbetween missions doing armory and laboratory stuff doesn't count right?

It even says that in the description. Also I've been idling on the Hyperion for a lot longer than 8 hrs total.
