A great tournament is incoming on the next friday at 5:00pm CET! ESL News link
Grid link
200€ prize money. T-Shirts for #2 and #3 it seems.
Races in numbers: Protoss: 7, Terrans: 4, Zergs: 5
It's Single Elimination and bo3. Final is bo5 it seems. Another European tournament.
Most known top SC2 players are competing. I, as a german, am pretty excited to see how XlorD will be doing, cause he never participated at Zotac Cup.
As for the stream language: "As the whole cast will be in German, the moderators will switch to English when it gets to the raffle time with nice prizes such as 5 StarCraft II Beta Keys!"

winner gets 200euro or they split it over more places?

@Frozen: he has to be!

man why do they split US from Europe, it shud be like europe + US together and then Asia server (cuz of language barrier)
|
What makes me sad is that i've beaten at least 3 of the invited =p

(ah well if i see it correctly you just want that blizzard merges US and EU server)

I love ESL and what they are doing. But every time I tune in I just get baffled and mad that Germans (with a good understanding of English as we have in Sweden) would talk German in the streams.
It just does not sit well with me and it's the sole reason (obviously) that I dont support ESL with premium account and more visits etc.
I have heard that they tried to cast in English and that German fans was upset. Is this true ? Can any German ESL fan enlighten me about why they wont speak English on the stream ? The international value and the added attention and hits ESL would recieve must be worth the effort, right ?

I think they're used to have much more German viewers than anything else in their Wc3 and Sc shows, and on the ESL site there are mostly German users... But i can fully understand you and wouldn't mind if it was in English, but many of the German viewers probably are pretty young and wouldn't like it.
Plus for this show i doubt they'll have more than 25% German viewers, so i think it's kind of stupid too.

The ESL casters are great casters in german. The show is so much fun. They once tried to cast in english (FlyingDJ and stoned), I didn't like it. So much of the fun and humor was gone when they tried to cast in english.
So there only are two solutions for that problem: Either the german casters keep commentating in german (I prefer this one ofc :D ) or you get some good english casters to commentate the show. But german casters talking english suxXxXXx.

perfectly timed for me starting a SC2 podcast that involves shoutcasting, eeeeeexcelent
|
cant just some guy from tl who wants to help esl volenteer to help them commentate
then they could have 2 streams,1 in german and 1 in english or is that too much problem?
maybe our beloved day9 could watch the stream on low sound and overlap with his own stream while he commentates? maybe the quality would go down slightly but i think its worth it cause commentating is a big part of the stream imo
|
i think there are 2 streams up at fridey....
Take talked something about that maybe 1 in english and 1 in german would be pretty epic.
