From Naver Sports, 11/12/09:
Your team is #1 now and you've been doing well too. How's it going lately?
- So many matches. Rather than resting, I always think about matches. I think about strategies even while eating. I wanna take a good break after making it to the final.
How long will KT maintain its #1 spot? What needs to improve to sustain the spot?
- We can keep it if we keep it at the round 1. Not like anything to improve, but we shouldn't underestimate our opponents and keep our guard. Then we can probably keep the #1 spot.
What changes were there during the summer break?
- We needed that break time to accommodate the newcomers. We strengthened out teamwork too. We can make it to the final this season. Keep the hope.
Beside you, any player that will do well this season? Any rising star?
-

Secret to the 14 consecutive TvT win?
- Other progamers ask that too. Not a secret, but that I'm always confident. That's my biggest strength, and the secret is that I don't cringe at anybody and do my thing.

Your rival?
- I thought it was

Won't

- They would think that each other is a rival. In terms of the era was battled off, it's me vs Jaedong and Bisu vs Stork.
Based on your regular interviews, you seem to get practice partners from other teams easily. What's the secret?
- It's hard for me lately. There's been a rumor about my strategies being revealed. Rather than getting practice partners, I've been practicing within my team. But I do need to get players from other teams.
Isn't it hard to practice within your team?
- My teammates' levels are standardized at an optimal level. That's our strength. So it's fair enough to practice within and not out.
How many hours a day do you practice?
- I don't have a practice schedule. If I feel like it's enough I stop. If I'm stuck and games don't go well, I go on well past the midnight.
Isn't it tough to practice like that? How do you relieve your stress?
- To avoid stress, I exercise a lot. Lately I've been running and bicycling a lot. I watch soap operas before going to bed too. I've been doing my best to have fulfilling days.
Why Terran?
- I was a Zerg. But as I played, Terran looked good. That's why. Sometimes I regret what should not be regretted; as I played Terran, other races looked good. But since I'm a Terran now, I'll do my best to be the #1 Terran.
Your TvZ has been good lately. Reason?
- I was always on that level during practice. I didn't have many chances on TV, but as I started winning I got a drive and have been doing better.
Your TvP seems weak compared to your almost perfect TvZ and TvT. How will you improve?
- Honestly, as I prepared for the game against

What about the improvement?
- As I said before, I've been preparing a new mid-to-end game strategy against Protoss. I don't know when it will be complete. When it's complete, my TvP will be strong again. Be patient and I will definitely show it off on TV.

The Group Selection is coming up. Anybody you wanna play against?
- No. Because I've played against everyone. Personally I want a lot of Zergs. Lately Zerg has been doing well. So I wanna meet them and beat them all.
Isn't it tough to be a student and a progamer?
- The school has been really accommodating, letting me skip when there are matches and so forth. I should return the favor by getting good grades.
Have you had a slump? When and how did you overcome it?
- My first losing streak was 6 games, around my debut. It was really tough losing one after another. I didn't know how to overcome, so I just concentrated on practicing; and that was the best method.
Your mind control before a game?
- The idea that I must totally dominate the opponent is always imprinted in my mind. I control my mind by thinking "why should I lose to this guy?"
How did you feel when you won a gold at a recent international tournament?
- My first time seeing and touching such a gold medal. National anthem came and I was fulfilled. I was glad and wanted to go back to South Korea to be celebrated.
Any face that came to your mind?
- When I received the gold medal, I just wanted to eat some Korean rice. I was really hungry.
The 1,000th day after your debut is coming up. The most memorable game?
- A lot. If I have to pick one, it's the game against

Any fan you remember?
- I remember almost all gifts by fans. If I have to pick one, it's the fan who gave me a tiger pajama. I remember it because it was so cute. I haven't wore it and just kept it in closet, but I remember it the most.
What's your attitude to your haters?
- At first, I was really pissed. Some even said bad things about my parents and I almost thought about reporting to the authority. But I'm more used to them now and try to think positively. I just take them as an expression of attention to me and am beyond being adversely affected by them.
You've looked better lately. How do you take care of your look?
- I gained 5 kilograms two months ago. But I lost 3 before going to Vietnam and lost 2 when I came back. That's probably why I've looked better. Night snack lately has been gaining me some weight, so I've been exercising a lot.
Girlfriend? If not, what's your ideal?
- None at the moment. I just like a cute girl. A style that just looks pretty and cute when you look at her.
Compare yourself to

- A difficult question. His style is so much different from mine. His style is the one where he comes rigorously prepared rather than relying on a sense. Mine is the one where I change my style based on how a game goes rather than using a prepared build. I try to catch the opponent off guard. But Fantasy comes prepared from beginning to end.
Anybody you want to live together as a team?
- Personally,

- Rather than keeping up, I just see them during matches. I see Nal_rA around the stage, and I meet Reach at Battle.net. I told him I would buy pizzas and visit; but I haven't and he's not 100% happy. I was really close with Yellow too and he still feels like a teammate. I wanna visit them sometime soon.
Any sports you like and am confident?
- Soccer. You can call me a soccer mania.
How good are you?
- I used to play with my friends and win #1 at town tournaments. But I haven't played for a while and just play with teammates, and I'm still good.
Any special episode during a game?
- Not really an episode, but I have my lucky slippers. Slippers that I am wearing now. I've been doing 19 wins and 1 loss wearing these. Lost once yesterday.
Jaedong has been #1 in KeSPA ranking for eight months. Anything you wanna say to him?
- It seems hard to catch up now, but once the individual leagues start I think I can take it back. He'd better be nervous.
After you retire, what would you wanna do?
- Gaming team coach. It fits me well because I like being bossy. So I wanna do that later in the future.
Goal this season and final words?
- ProLeague championship and an individual league championship. Also the Player of the Year. I thank my fans for supporting me, and I'll do my best to become the best player and not make you regret being my fans.
